Whatever happened to the whole "Macs are safe" concept that Apple lovers seem so proud about? :lol

Then again, I'd bet that if the FBI had Mac details, then they'd have a lot of other details as well, and Windows and Linux would be no safer. Well, okay, they'd be slightly safer due to the customisation options being more user-friendly (and thus the computer's defense less uniform, making it at least more time-consuming if not more difficult to hack 12m units).

Oh well. It's really not necessary for them to tell us this. We all already knew someone somewhere was definitely watching us. Doesn't make much of a difference.

    iSpy at the FBi.

Big Brother is watching. And he's fapping at everything we do.

    No surprise really.

I don't know if I'm more concerned that hackers might have the Apple IDs, or that the FBI has them - and is doing who knows what with them.

Hackers: "We totally hacked the FBI and stole all the Mac-users info they were secretly holding to show everyone they are EVUUUUL!"
    FBI: "Nuh uh!"
Hackers: "See? SEE?! That's proof of their guilt!"

I read about this on another site. They pretty much went through why it probably ISN'T the FBI where the info came from. The hackers are anti-govt so they are probably just saying it is the FBI. Of course, no matter what the FBI says, people will think its true. News media latched onto it because 'FBI steals your info' is a much more interesting headline then 'Info gathered somewhere else'.

The FBI has that many IDs? Throw in a cool suit and a rocket powered armored sports car and I'm in.

    iHeart Android

this is why I cover my phone's front and rear cameras when web browsing on the toilet.

    - posted from the iPhone5 I got from my apple employed uncle instead of the Galaxy SIII I asked for.

You have iPhone 5 units available to you already? Why has this not been leaked to everyone?

I want to know why the new unit still does NOT have Flash, Java or a decent OS. Or a flash for the camera.

:lolol [/proudly uses a Galaxy SIII because he's awesome]

Seriously, though, as much as hating Apple is justified and inevitable fun as they continue to shoot themselves in the foot, I don't think Apple can be blamed for this.

Firstly, its likely not true. Hacker can claim anything and use the "Oh, they'll deny it" line to 'prove' anything they like. But they still don't really have evidence to prove that anything happened.

Secondly, if the FBI did do this, it's not Apple's fault their computers were hacked. While the uniformity of Apple units will hurt them, the FBI should be more than capable of hacking even the most user-customised Windows and Linux machines. Hell, a simple virus and they'd have millions of computers hacked in the blink of an eye.

That said, I don't believe this story yet. And I'll continue loving Android because Android is great! :lol

I don't use apps, I actually only use iTunes for music (in 2012? GASP!! I know :lol  ) and the last time I bought music was like a year ago on a wifi network nowhere near my home. I'm not concerned about being tracked. Even if the FBI could somehow view my computer's contents via my Apple ID (which wouldn't surprise me nowadays), I don't use my computer for anything illegal, not even illegally downloading songs like a lot of people do.
