KCunite (REFUND ISSUED) UPDATE shipped the first 4 sets this morning, first post is updated with tracking numbers for use on www.usps.com. Im coming to the realization that Im not going to be able to complete the remaining sets in any reasonable amount of time, when it took this long just to get 4 done, and I wasnt even entirely happy with them. From having to outsource the casting, to the castings I did get back not color matching and having to paint them, to then having half of them not actually fit, this project just blew beyond my ability. I still have raw castings if anyone wants them to finish themselves, but the work needed on most of them is just more than I can put into it. Unfortunately, the 4 that have shipped are the only 4 sets that will be going out. Over the next week I will be issuing refunds(its going to take a few days for funds transfer to complete) for the remaining sold sets. I apologize for taking this long to come to this realization, but I wanted to be sure there was no other weay I could finish the run before backing out on it. Those of you that will receive your parts soon, I hope you enjoy them and I will put together a short instructional video soon. For the rest of you, Im deeply sorry and I hope you dont hate me forever going forward. Again, I am willing to send you raw castings for free if you want to give them a try yourself. Just send me a pm. Your paypal refunds will be coming over the next week or so. PROTOTYPE SHOWN BELOW Secondary Required Mod: Please be aware doing this mod requires removing the bottom door panels from the original arm chair pieces by removing the pin, and then attaching those parts to the doors. I may do a video detailing the removal of these parts and installation of the new ones if enough people find they need instruction. Doing the mod allows for full normal transformation and Sam figure still fits in seat, although a bit tightly.
those that have paid so far have been marked, the others have been pm'ed. Resin should be on order shortly. I found a good paint match, but testing a few other methods for coloring the resin without painting.
i really like what you have there!! its looking really good! but just a little question, or maybe me just wondering. isent 30$ a bit much? i understand the time and materials and all but i mean HA Bumblebee is like 39 or w.e....just a bit curious there. but i wish you the best of luck!
im not fansproject or igear, im doing this myself by hand (and have a fulltime jopb, so im doign this in my free time), thats the cheapest i can do it for and not be a waste of time.
You have to consider the fact, this is what is called a, "garage kit," meaning it's a small group (or a single person in this case) that is doing this whole thing. Hasbro is a huge company that can buy a lot of materials at discounted rates and sell products cheaper because they have the resources to do so (ahhh the beauty of mass production). The OP is kind enough to do a lot of labor and buy the materials on his own for fellow board members. So when you think about it, 35 bux is a decent price.
I think the price is alright, sure cheaper would be great but not realistic. Think of it this way, if you go on eBay and try to buy two of the Unleashed Bumblebees to get the two arm pieces, you would be paying no less than $20 each plus shipping, then you would have to modify them to stay on your HA Bumblebee and it wouldn't be as sturdy as one piece like these. All that is well worth $35. Plus, you’re supporting a fellow board member instead of an eBay scalper!
are these fitted so anyone can put them on just by using a screwdriver? if so I'd say these are priceless. although I'll probably be modding mine out of the pre-existing seats. but for those who don't customize these would be a treat.
yup, unscrew the arm, dont loose the spring pieces in there, remove the seats, put in new part and screw closed. then you need to do the secondary mod for the bottom of the door panels.
not sure why, but havent heard back from over half of the interested members... if youre no longer interested, TELL ME so i can remove you from the list.
The price you are charging is totally fair. Some people need to get involved with customs and heavy mods. Until only then will they understand the steep costs of customization like casting. Best wishes with your arm panel replacements offerings!
maybe once the orders here are filled, but why wait? chances are itll end up costing more than here..
just shot you payment, can't wait to get these installed already modded my doors, now i just need to get a 2nd hand
I'd be interested, though I don't think I could afford them at this time .... But as for a possible color match, testor enamel chrome yeller is perdy darn close to hasbros color! Try it out if you have time.
