Nothing earth-shatteringly ambitious here, I just decided to paint HA Barricade's grill matte black (with a clear coat of flat base mixed with Johnson's Klear) initially when I bought him. I think this was the simplest yet most effective change that could be made to improve Barricade. I then made other changes. Since I work in automotive lighting it felt wrong to leave the parking lights, the CHMSL and the reverse lights that have been provided as moulded detail unpainted... The tailpipes needed a bit of paint also. Then there's the dash... I painted the embellishers around the speedometer and the air-vents to mimic the real car's. It's better than the original inauthentic brown dashboard I think. I was going to add a hint of orange to the parking lights at the front, so it looked like an orange bulb behind clear lens, but I couldn't work out how do it well. The silver used (the lightest Tamiya do) was too dark for it to work anyway. I resisted the urge to paint the brown robot parts because I continually handle Barricade, so there is little change in robot mode... Now all I need now is a "Mustache Man" to "drive" Barricade; suggestions?
