Nintendo Power posted the full article of their coverage on Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock. It looks and sounds absolutely fucking...Awful. It's like they took the ideas I had about the game, and twisted them into something completely idiotic.

Basically, it's Brutal Legend...But with only instruments and concerts instead of axes and hot rods.

People still care about Guitar Hero?

At least Harmonix are evolving the Rock Band games; I think they teased that a keyboard might be added into the choice of instruments for RB3.

It has a story driven quest mode that a lot of people are drawing comparisons to Brutal Legend. You're essentially on the hunt to save the God of Rock. Your character will have the ability to transform into an 'other-worldly character'.

    • Avenged Sevenfold – "Bat Country"
    • Black Sabbath – "Children Of The Grave"
    • Buzzcocks – "What Do I Get?"
    • Children Of Bodom – "If You Want Peace... Prepare For War"
    • The Cure – "Fascination Street"
    • Def Leppard – "Pour Some Sugar On Me (Live)"
    • Dethklok – "Bloodlines"
    • Dire Straits – "Money For Nothing"
    • DragonForce – "Fury of the Storm"
    • Drowning Pool – "Bodies"
    • Fall Out Boy – "Dance, Dance"
    • Foo Fighters – "No Way Back"
    • Foreigner – "Feels Like The First Time"
    • The Hives – "Tick Tick Boom"
    • Jane's Addiction – "Been Caught Stealing"
    • Jethro Tull – "Aqualung"
    • KISS – "Love Gun"
    • Linkin Park – "Bleed It Out"
    • Megadeth – "Sudden Death"
    • Metallica & Ozzy Osbourne – "Paranoid (Live)"
    • Muse – "Uprising"
    • My Chemical Romance – "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)"
    • Night Ranger – " (You Can Still) Rock In America"
    • Nine Inch Nails – "Wish"
    • The Offspring – "Self Esteem"
    • Queen – "Bohemian Rhapsody"
    • Rammstein – "Waidmanns Heil"
    • The Rolling Stones – "Stray Cat Blues"
    • Silversun Pickups – "There's No Secrets This Year"

I really like the idea of the interchangeable "bodies". I'm a little put off by store exclusives already though.

To be honest I'm always a little put off by Activision continuously putting out yearly disc based games instead of having a constant stream of DLC music but this is so incredibly uh, interesting, that I'm excited it for it.

So they've already removed the touch glider, or whatever it was called, from the guitar designs?

The music was the only saving grace of Brutal Legend and its the type of music I like, so it makes this title much more appealing. As long as the final track list is good and not filled with unfitting pop then I'm pretty sure i'll be picking this up. I don't own a Guitar Hero/Rock Band game but have always wanted to jump on the bandwagon.

    No shame in it either.

Don't care what people say about Activision or Guitar Hero, I'm buying it. I love those types of games, and instead of picking sides, I'm buying both RockBand 3 and Guitar Hero: WoR.

    Love the tracklist so far.

I'm appalled by the inclusion of Linkin Park. The music is supposed to be a rock/metal, something they are not. Hope Dio makes it this time, I think his band only appeared in Rock the 80ies.

Most people seem to prefer Rock Band. I like Guitar Hero's presentation (Warriors of Rock sounds ridiculous, though), game animation and guitar controllers (except the slider thing sucked and the new guitars look weird). I always found those characteristics to be lacking in Rock Band. What Rock Band excels at, however, is their use of the music. Their library is much deeper than Guitar Hero's and Rock Band doesn't feel the need to put out quite as many extra titles as Guitar Hero. I mean, does Green Day REALLY deserve it's own title? I love Aerosmith, Metallica, Van Halen, AC/DC and The Beatles, but I shouldn't have to shell out another $60 (minimum) just to play something that should be downloadable content. In fact, I'd argue that new games are completely unnecessary. Give me a dozen or so songs to download from the bands that I like for $10 or whatever and be done with it.
