The latest issue of Game Informer has four pages of info on the (YES!!! IT'S REALLY TRUE!!!) upcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica game. Unlike the Aerosmith game, which had more of a "Behind the Music," chronological history of the band biographical feel, the Metallica game allows you to play as a band competing with other bands to be the opening act for Metallica. Music from their whole catalog will be available. Apparently they didn't have any trouble finding master tapes. (That's a first!) Sounds like the progression will work similarly to the Aerosmith game, where you play a few songs by bands that have influenced Metallica, and then play as Metallica for a few songs in each venue. Less cartoony looking, more in tone with Metallica's themes, etc. It's official... they can stop making video games. I'm clearing my schedule... I will play this game every day for a year, then I can finally put on a suit and become an old man. There's an extended interview with Lars Ulrich on Game Informer's website, but you have to be an Unlimited member to view it.
