and something to note for Rockband: "When we say that the European release of Rock Band will have localized content it DOES NOT mean that we are stripping out our main songs and replacing them with European songs. It means Europe will be getting extra songs on their disc of content localized to their language so they can have a little extra fun if they feel so inclined."

MTV Games snagged 18 Grateful Dead tracks to sell and distribute online with this fall's Rock Band. The songs will come from the original master tracks. The press release mentions the following songs specifically:

- Truckin’
- Uncle John’s Band
- Touch of Grey
- Sugar Magnolia
- Casey Jones

With the exception of ZZ Top and Heart it looks like Rock Band has the lion's share of the best songs. But if they were gonna use a Queens of the Stone Age song I wish wish wish they would have gone with Little Sister

 

GHIII is slightly kicking Rock Band's ass in terms of song selection IMO, but it really pisses me off that Metallica is apparently fine with RB and not GH.

 

I want to see this song as an unlockable song on one of the games.

 

Rock Band will have downloadable ALBUMS. There's really no contest.

But I'm getting both.

 

It's going to kill me, but I might just have to get both of these. Both have awesome songs.

Not on the PS2 it won't, and that's what I have.

I'm not really interested in the whole RB concept anyway, I like to play solo.

 

I only have a PS2, also.

But RB makes me want a 360.

 

That's the thing about Rock Band though, it can just be another GH game if you want it to be. Ill probably spend more time playing RB by myself with the guitar than anything else, but I'm still excited about the ability to get online or a group of friends together every now and then and just rock out.

 

That's cool they got Living Colour on GH3, I love the guitar on Cult of Personality.

 

I like the line-up of both, and I'm pretty willing to get both but I'm pretty sure 90% of the time I'd be playing alone. So RB will hurt a little bit more.

Of course if either announce a Prince song that's the one I'm definitely buying no matter what. A GH version of Bambi would rock the f'ing house.

Well according to Gamespot, Dragonforce's Through Fire and Flames will be an unlockable in GH3 , GL to anyone to tries it.

 

Fury of the Storm would have been more fun.
