Just picked this up - it's nice for the UK to get something first for a change!
I've only played the first two tiers so far (on medium - chicken that I am) I actually prefer the non-Aerosmith songs so far but I only knew one of the four.

For some reason there is now annoying, out of time clapping, when you activate star power - so I've turned the volume of that right down.

I haven't spotted any really cool looking guitars in the shop but there are a few nice basses (I want the ninja, and the fork in steak Bass  )

    *Edit*
Finished all the main songs on medium, medium seems to be generally easier than GH3.

Just picked this up this morning. Its weird, after dusting off my GH guitar (literally, i havn't touched it for over 6 months) I forgot how much I miss the clickiness of it. I find strumming fast up/down strumming much more accurate. If it wasn't for the toyish size of the thing I really wouldn't hate the guitar as much as I thought after months of playing RB.

Im making my first run through on Hard and it does seem easier the GH3

EDIT: Oh and is it just me but does Steven Tyler's model look REALLY old in this? I wonder if he approved that?

Picked it up today and played through the list on hard. It seems to be easier than GH:3. I know the song list has been online but I'm not really crazy about playing them for some reason. I put it away and started playing GH:3 again lol. Its a good deal if you get the guitar package since the wii guitars are 60 or 70 bucks. I may try and sell the game itself for 40 or 50 dollars though and see if anyone will buy it off of me.

I'm just not enjoying the songs....

Expert is vastly easier over GH III. I love Neversoft for toning it down.

So, Train Kept A' Rollin' is the only song that's been really challenging on Expert so far. I mean...jeez. It's got a lot of fuckin notes. :(

I got it yesterday, and was utterly amazed that in the first 5 songs, I only missed 1 note. Granted it was on easy, but that was REALLY REALLY easy.

I only did 2 perfect songs on GH3 (on easy) after months of play, but 7 (in total) perfect songs on GH:A was a little much.

i would if it wasnt aerosmith. I read in an interview a long time ago that Eddie Van Halen didnt like Joe Perry. And any enemy of eddie's is an enemy of mine. So in honor of Van Halen i will not purchase this.

that and i am more of a riff rock guy. I always thought aerosmith was a little too vocally driven for my tastes. Good band, but i only own their greatest hits, and i usually skip em when it pops up on shuffle on my ipod

I have not picked up a Guitar Hero since I played GH1 on the PS2. I just can not justify buying another guitar for the PS3 to play the new games. Are the guitar controllers the same? Is there any new buttons or could you use the old controller if it did work?

Wile the soundtrack is iffy and it feels more like a GH3 expansion pack then a stand alone title I'm still digging this game :)

I'm pissed they put the Cult in it, I can't give Steve Tyler my money.
