I've recently obtained my sister's unused Hohner HW200 Dreadnot acoustic.

and although it's in great condition. But by accident during the summer when I was borrowing it I lost the extra strings she bought when our aunt gave her the guitar...some 4-6 years ago.

just need someone who plays the guitar and has a good ear to tell me if this is in tune and still sounds good enough to play on till I buy some more strings.

and if someone can give me a link to how to play basic chords will also be helpful.

You mean people still play on guitars with strings? I play on a modern one with five multi colored buttons.

That's somewhat tuned. Your D string (4th one) sounds off-tune.

    Check http://www.howtotuneaguitar.org/

TNBW: If anything, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are a gateway to learning real guitar. Once you learn to play a real guitar, the plastic, button-driven ones thend to get lame real quick :)

I know you're just kidding, but it bears saying that nothing is more irritating to those of us who can actually play real instruments than people who are really good at Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band and think that they are "musicians".

Exactly. And I know this isn't the first time you've said this, I've seen a similar comment of your in the picture thread.

Without real guitars, artists couldn't record the songs you rock out to when you play make believe at Guitar Hero/Rock Band ;)

I hope you guys are taking the piss because nobody who is good to amazing at those games think they're musicians.

I mean, seriously, the fact either of you dignified it with a reply is completely silly in the first place, cuz, yanno people harping on about how it's not like the real thing in the least... well, man, it just never happens. Not ever.

Ive always tuned mine through harmonics. 5th & 7th fret on the EADG & E strings, and open with the B.

Tuning to E flat has always been the trickiest for me. Solos are fun in E, grudging around's fun in D and the grind is fun all the way down to B flat.
I still love my thrash though so I tune up to E alot, with the occassional E string dropped to D

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone's guitar skills. :lol  But anyone playing Guitar Hero thinking they are a real musician is like anyone playing a racing game thinking they are a better driver then Jimmy Johnson or Lewis Hamilton.

With all that said, I get more groupies.
