Guido Guidi posted this little bit of gorgeousness to his DeviantArt account today:

A panel from the comic planned for inclusion in the upcoming GENERATIONS 2011 Vol 2 from Million Publishing, written by Simon Furman, it features the Million-exclusive Stepper (RtS Jazz redeco), United's Sergeant Kup, and Brainstorm and Highbrow drawn not just in the classic Marvel style, but in the specifications and colours of their old Marvel character models!

Had I a poet spare, I would have sent him to make this post in my stead.

It makes me wish we actually had decent art and stories in our current TF comics.

Man, Guido is really awesome at varying his art style and emulating the style of other artists. He also pulled a convincing Nick Roche in LSOTW.

If only he had emulated this style for the current IDW comics.
    Very nice.

Well, we got our first glimpse of Generations Kup in the Rodimus/Cyclonus pack exclusive comicbook, so it won't be the first time HasTak premiered a new figure in that form.
Either way, I do doubt we'll get Headmasters. We're talking Ultra class figures at the least that can carry a robot head (can't see a tiny voyager's head substituted by an even tinier headmaster robot. And remember, the more plastic and design that goes into the head, the smaller the figure we'll get much like the DOTM line because of the mechtech weapons). So honestly, I could see us getting Chromedome, but not as a headmaster but rather as a regular Generations deluxe figure.

Am I going to be the first negative comment?

I mean, obviously this is awesome. He really captured the distinct vibe of those old Marvel comics... the awkward block robots, the dense linework, the harsh whites and saturated hues, the imprecise colouring... hrmmmm... er... ugh.

While I applaud the fact that Guido really nailed the look of those old comics, and the nostalgia hit is kind of nice... there is no goddamn way I want to read 24 pages of this every month!

It's a quaint gimmick, but it really serves to remind me of how far things have come since those old Jose Delbo mando-paper days. Of all the things I miss from the old days, 1980's Marvel Transformers comic art is not one of them. If anything has showed a definite improvement in the comics medium, it's been the art, printing and colour techniques. Going retro(grade) like this is going to get really old really fast, so I hope it's just a one-off.

If it meant getting the characters in a new toy that looked like their G1 bodies, I could care less if they are actual Headmasters.
Just release nice solid figs for the characters, some 3rd party stuff would probably surface eventually to satisfy the Headmaster aspect

Completely agreed. It's a cute little throw-back to the 80s comics, but in no way would I be able to tolerate block coloring and various shades of blue instead of crisp blacks.
