Just figure I throw this out there since registration got out today. Really looking forward to my second class. Last year was a blast and hopefully we get similarly cool stuff. Here's to hoping for a G2 version of the animated breakdown figure from the set. That would be cool. This is just for speculation purposes. Don't want to raise any false alarms of what the figure may be.

I wonder if Hasbro will try to avoid what happened last year with G2 Sideswipe and the uproar over him being so damn limited.

It a lie is Animated Ramjet (repaint of Voyager Starscream.)

Hmm... Animated Swoop to Terrorsaur, Animated Snarl to Killer Punch, Deluxe Bumblebee to Wasp, and Deluxe Prime to um... Ultra "Prime" all seem like possibilities considering the randomness of the Animated stuff this year.

Fractyl or Terrorsaur from Swoop would be my guess.

Most likely it'll be a mold that they are using for the con or club. G2 Sidswipe was made from the G2 Breakdown. SG Thunderclash from the regular Thunderclash. Overkill from SG Grimlock.

So I'd guess something like an Animated Stepper from the Jazz mold or an Animated Breakdown in G2 colors. Maybe a Pardron Medic from the Arcee mold.

Mostly. 2009 was SG Thunderclash which combined the theme from 2008 and 2009.

Overkill was the figure from 2007. SG Grimlock was 2008. But 2008 was SG Nightbeat from TFCC Nightbeat. 2006 was Scrapmetal. The pattern has held 3 out of the past 5 years but it was the latest three.

Another figure from the Arcee mold would be cool. Can you imagine the number of people trying to justify that Medic is canon!?!? :rolleyes2

I hope its someone like Animated Thundercracker. This is my first year taking the classes and really the first time trying to customize any figure. Are they pretty helpful with first timers? Is it an educational process?

They are pretty helpful with the noobs in the class. I found the class to be fairly fun and being able to assemble your own figure was definitely a blast. The painting was a bit of a pain for me as I don't paint well. Go figures.

I'm thinking it will be a figure in the convention set, either in the same colors it's in at the convention set, the original mold's colors, or new colors (this seems less likely considering the backlash last year with G2 Sideswipe).

Did Botcon really care about backlash from last year? Or was it just free advertisement. At the end of the day it wasn't that bad. And isn't last year's backlash from the fact that somehow people managed to convince themselves that Sideswipe is a cornerstone of G2 and should have been a part of the boxset. Although I'm conveniently ignoring Sky-byte presense here. . . :p

Well, it would have to be any Deluxe figure that they haven't already used in the set, so that leaves a fair amount of posibilities. I'm thinking the likley canidates are either Bumblebee (who is rather simply broken down, I know from having to customize one) or Sentinel Prime with a retooled head (because I can't really see any other way they're gonna get to use that mold again...)

I think the customization figure is usually one that is already in the set.

    SG Grimlock = Overkill
    Thunderclash=SG Thunderclash
    G2 Breakdown=G2 Sideswipe.

So I am leaning towards the breakdown figure as that seems to be the most appealing out of the bunch to me.

As it was pointed out earlier in the thread, Overkill was the Custom Class figure for 2007, while SG Grimlock was in 2008. Overkill was used in 2007 as it was a figure still being produced at the time (and Hasbro let them use figures being produced that year, unlike other years).

So likely it will be a toy from the convention set, as you stated, but 2008 wasn't an example of such. They had SG Nightbeat as the exclusive (which was the club exclusive for that year).

The Arcee mold would be a likely contestant as well.

Think of all the Fembots we can get from there onwards. (Elita-1, Chromia, etc.) :D
