interesting. Course I don't think they should have ousted Pluto from planet status.

pluto is trapped in the orbit of the sun , I think at one time they called it a drifted away moon, then once a metor, once a old comet , not many agree on what it actually is.

    i think they have found 100's of " new " planets .

As someone that has taken college-level Astronomy courses, I can honestly say that I don't really care what they decide it is unless it has inhabitants that are going to come here and kill me within my lifetime.

So what? Dozens of planets beyond our solar system have been discovered. What makes this one special?

Because it is INSIDE our solar system? Having a planet that close by and not knowing it is a lot more amazing than finding a planet in another star system. I don't think many people expected to EVER find a planet that size inside of our system.

I've checked around numerous science/space websites, and seen nothing on this. This is just speculation. Nothing more, till there's proof.

If it's in our solar system, and we do not know about it, would it be close enough to orbit Sol, and if it is, would it actually be considered part of our system due to its distance?

Really? I didn't actually read the article before posting because the OP link takes me to Gizmondo's home page. Maybe it's a bug for UK residents.

BTW, this quote from Wikipedia on the planet's temporary name:

I propose that its permananent name be Nemesis. It just sounds so much cooler. :p

    " the golden zone "
is why it's spe-shal ! Might have the " makings for life "
honestly who knows who cares its millions of light years away.

Alot of this space exploration makes no sense finacially speaking.
Trillions of dollars for rovers to rove on mars yet millions around the world are starving.

Then us going back to the moon ? With a huge national debt can we just put those kinda things on freeze and look at them as things to spend money on when we have some to spare.

Could be we HAVE TO GO TO THE MOON TO PLANT A FLAG and old space junk from a moon landing that never took place . So when china get to the moon they will think we actually made it their back in the 70's

    decep,

To this day russian and china has images of a mapped moon surface done with high powered satallites . Nether have found proof of a flag or moon landing.

2 Months ago china sent the rover to the moon and recovered pictures of a crash landed us spaceship .

So far no buggies, rovers, golf clubs, flags

Sure the u.s could luanch a rocket at the moon, LANDING exploring and making it back is a different story.

the nasa experts always skate around " radiation field " questions as well as the moon has no ozone and reaches temps of 400 degrees . The film inside the camers would burn in a instant.

camera film can not handle the heat and cold differances and would have shattered.
i suggest you do some research on the whole topic.

the space shuttle re enters the atmosphere with textiles on the bottom. The 60'70's capsules are metal . The heat friction would kill the person inside. Same reason why russian monkeys died. You can go to the inner orbit of the earth and re-enter o.k , once you leave its inner orbit and voyage to the outter orbit the friction comming back inside is to great that why t.v satallites burn up when reenturing the earth and they are the same exact metal uses on the 70's capsules

Why did the nasa rocket explode on the landing pad back in the 70's? what better way to cover up a lie then kill the people involved .

The u.s govt did not relize technology would catch up and eventually prove it was hoax

If you have never been to the nasa space center to see the old rocket capsules that went up to space and came back you should go reach over the rope and tap on them . They are very thin , even todays aeronuatical experts luagh at the whole thought people believe those capsules could leave the orbit go to the moon and re-enter with out buring to molten metal

Uh, the Apollo vehicles were coated in ablative material that burned and melted slowly in order to transfer heat during reentry. There would be nothing left of it on the vehicles in museums.

the ones that we " used " are exactly the same in the musem as the pictures taken on the moon.

Look for yourself at the " on moon pictures " and the musem pictures.
nothing different except they " survived re-entry " untouched exactly the same
