Thread's done sorry.
That sucks to hear that coming from your own Dad.
So if you're a loser,I guess that makes me a loser to h well.
Yay, more losers! I guess we are some kind of sub-species of human.
Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. My dad is kind of the same way, but not as extreme. He really doesn't like fact that I'm 20 and still buy toys, but he has said before "well at least you aren't out there doing drugs, and partying like other people your age"
You shouldnt feel bad, if reading comics is what you like to do then no one has the right to tell you that you are a loser. Just ignore what they say, I dont see what's wrong with reading comics neither should anyone else.
Someone needs a taste of PIMPHAND.
P.S. Make him watch MLP: FiS. Make a believer out of him.
YouTube - Beck - Loser
I got that and worse all the time from my father. Including a time where he hit me for 'reading violent comic books'. The irony was incredible. My response to his behavior was pilfering money from his drawer every time he pulled it. I must have amassed a fortune. The only regret I have about him walking out is that I no longer have a source of cash.
Also, song related. Just substitute the lyrics referring to a girl with those referring to a father:
YouTube - The Beatles I'm a loser

My dad isn't that mad about it (I'm 14), but i can tell by how he acts that he thinks its a little weird that i play with toys. I feel bad for you though.
P.S- Crap! I missed Free Comic Book Day again!
My dad read comics as a lad, so he had no problem with that. Surprisingly, my dad never had any problem with anything I did or was into except pro wrestling. He hated it and called it "that wrestling shit". Then when I was in college, I trained as a wrestler and he came to one of my matches and surprisingly said "Ahh, it wasn't that bad". That's as close as I can come to this story, but that's pretty shitty to hear that he said that. I feel that parents should never put their kids down as long as they have a job and aren't into drugs or breaking any laws, but that's just me
Your dad can't work a microwave and he's calling you a loser? That's rich, man.
Us Loser's got to stick together.
Sound's like he needs a hobby
Your bragging about picking on your challenged father? In most states thats borderline hate crime.
What's this "crying" stuff?
I thought that only happened when you get kicked in the balls...twice.
I know how you feel. Most of my family thinks I'm an oddball for being a 30-something year old woman who collects toys and comics. Most think I'm a total loser because I'm not ambitious about money (sorry, I put people first) and I married a fellow geek instead of an aggressive corporate jock.
Don't let your dad get to you. His opinion of you is important, but not as important as the opinion of the person looking back at you in the mirror.
I wouldn't say she was bragging about it that much.
I'd have to imagine there's more to it then just what your Dad said. Something is probably bothering him and there's a chance it has nothing to do with you.
I've never been treated like that by anyone I knew. I think as long as your taking care of your life in a responsible fashion, what you do as a hobbie is non of anyone else's concern. If they don't understand, than just tell them they don't understand and have no right to talk to you that way.
Unless you feel they have the right to talk to you that way, but then that's not their problem. (even though I could never see myself calling my daughter or any other member of my family a loser, but not everyone has the same standards)
What are these "balls" of which you speak?
Aren't you a woman, ILD?
Anywho, I hate to be disrespectful (he clearly can't say the same), but your dad sounds like an old fashioned A-hole. I say this to everyone who feels bad about being a geek: you have nothing to be ashamed of, and you don't have to make excuses to anyone. You're doing something you enjoy that doesn't hurt anyone, and if they have a problem with that, they're probably just like the majority of humanity; doing everything to please others, and nothing to please themselves. It confuses their feeble minds to see someone who does the opposite, and truly lives their life the way they want.
Forget him. Seriously, does he even know how much worse it could be? You could be a crack addicted whore that is living off the government. The sooner that he figures it out, the better you both will be,.
