    Groups- Eating Disorder?

I've been searching and haven't been able to find an EATING DISORDER group. I was thinking of creating one (not pro). Anyone have any input? Would anyone even be interested in it? I'm on the fence about it, because I don't feel like it really belongs here, but then there are so many other groups completely unrelated to TF, and it would be sort of nice to have a place to go within the community for those certain people suffering from EDs. (I know I've been having a hard time lately, and don't really have anyplace to go and talk, vent, give or get support.)

    Just a thought.

(Also asking to see if it would even be allowed.)

My guess would be that it's probably not the kind of thing one would join a group for. Most men are pretty insistent that their boners never fail.

Oh, god. No! I'm sorry. I meant EATING DISORDER. I just assumed--I am such an idiot! *shakes head*

Methinks a Transformers forum is not the best place to be looking for that sort of support, especially if it's a serious problem.

Starting groups is a perk for supporters.

I'm pretty surprised there isn't an Asperger's group on this site. It would probably end up one of the largest.

That chuckle you just elicited from me just bought me a one-way ticket to dinner with Hitler in the third circle of Hell.

    Thanks.

If over-eating or poor diet counts as an ED then I think you'll get plenty of members...

Probably won't find many ana, bul or EDNOS people though.

Probably implies that there is room for doubt.

Unfortunately folks in this community, for the most part, don't believe in most mental health issues; most seem to think everything from clinical depression to (I'm sure) eating disorders are "made up" and excuses for the weak, and that the only treatment needed is for the person to "buck up and stop being a wuss". I try to remind myself that they don't actually realize how dangerous that advice is to people who genuinely have chemically-caused mental health issues...

I'd suggest seeking out somewhere more empathetic, where the forum culture is more open to identifying and talking honestly about mental health.
