How many of you fans would rather see Grimlock as a T-rex or would you want to see him as a kick butt type of monster tank similar to the war within version.

I personally love dinosaurs, but I'm not too crazy about animal robots on Earth. I like vehicles better cuz humans can ride inside of them and they can be kept in disguise.
I'd personally like to see a tank so that his character isn't limited by anything.

    What do you guys think?

I'd rather have him as a T-rex. It makes him more different from other Transformers and it helps Prime link up to the aligned continuity which Fall of Cybertron is part of.

I find the way he transformers in FOC interesting, since he hulks out into a T-rex mode which is his 'god' mode. In essence, he's far more powerful when in Dinosaur mode.

It also adds animosity between him and shockwave. In Fall of Cybertron, Shockwave experimented on Grimlock, giving him his beast mode. I doubt Grimlock would totally forget something like that. If shockwave shows up, Grimlock can be his main rival.

I also think it would also add depth to Grimlock's personality. Maybe he's someone who has to control the beast within. Or maybe he's someone who hates his new form because it makes him a freak, but also realizes that he actually needs it.

Also, the fact that he has difficulty going about places can make his exploits outside the base more interesting. After all, him using his skills and finding creative ways to hide from humans would be interesting.

It kinda feels pointless to have Grimlock be anything but a T-rex since "strong dumb guy" and "badass" are things that atleast other 10000 tf characters already have too.

Being t-rex is his WHOLE shtick

He's a space T-rex that eats bad robots and breathes fire. AWESOME.

Grimlock would be cool, certainly. Optimus could use a challenger to the throne, so to speak :)

    T-Rex, no question.

But he needs the sort of personality High Moon has going for him. Not a dumb caveman.

T-Rex Grimlock, with the same "problem" than BM Megatron: a conflict between his rational mind and his more emotional beast mode that sometimes overhelms him with unleashed fury. All as result of Shockwave´s experiments on him.
His inability to disguise as a normal vehicle between humans plus his occasional "Hulk" moments would make him an interesting addition to the crew.

T-Rex. And YES, I want him to talk like the Hulk. That is the version of the character that is actually fun, rather than just 'Generic Bad Ass #4312.'

The show is/was already teeming with badasses anyway:

    Optimus
    Megatron
    Soundwave
    Silas/MECH
    Wheeljack
    Bulkhead
Starscream (...to a much lesser extent)
    Ratchet (w/synthetic energon)
    Airachnid
    Arcee (...to a lesser extent)
Cliffjumper (arguable considering his limited screen time)

Besides, it's not like Grimlock can't be simultaneously dumb and dangerous.

trex tank and dinosaur like robot mode

think of those dragonized tanks darkseid used in the dc comics shared aniamted universe

but with grimlock still having a semi dinosaur lizard man /humanoid like form for the robot mode

like what this guy did for trypticon for example

What!? No "Space T-Rex" option? Space T-Rex are way better than regular T-Rex...

Seriously though, I agree with others that Grimlock = T-Rex is the main point of the character.

    T-Rex

What would be cool is if he talks and is generally normal in robot mode, but looses control every once in a while and goes nuts in T-Rex mode. Kinda like a "Savage Noble" thing going.
