Nice logo. Not sure how I feel about Parallax as the villian but I know they probably want to save Sinestro for a sequel & have him stay in the mentor role for now.
Meh. This movie could be good, though I think they dropped the ball in 2 instances: 1. Ryan Reynolds - He would have been a GREAT Flash, but seriously, the Hal Jordan I know of, I don't see Reynolds pulling it off as well as others. But, there was a time when I thought Heath Ledger wouldn't be a good Joker, so, the proof is in the pudding. 2. Only Hal Jordan? - Honestly, GL isn't that interesting to carry a movie. The most Fleshed out and interesting in recent history was the John Stewart Lantern in Justice League, tho Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner are options as well(Guy Gardner would have been a better fit for Ryan Reynolds talents IMO). So why not include all of them, and have Green Lantern versus Sinestro Corps? I mean origin movie be damned, they're so slow and boring most of the time, because a good 30-45 mins of the movie goes to "how I became [insert superhero]". There would have been so much more to work with this way.
No, thanks. I much prefer movies that take their time and actually provide characterization. (I love Ang Lee's Hulk because of this.) While those of us who've been comics readers are familiar with the characters, most moviegoers won't be.
First time I have heard someone say they actually liked that Hulk movie. I thought it was too slow. Anyways, love the logo, can't wait for more pics to show up.
I always love hearing the opinion that Hal Jordan is such a boring character because John Stewart was fleshed-out so much in Justice League. I say this because Stewart to is a pretty boring character in the DCU proper, and had Hal still been GL when the animated series was produced those stories would been about him instead of John. Though I completely agree about Reynolds. Hopefully, he takes a more serious approach to the character than his approaches to Hannibal King/Deadpool. And somewhat agree with the origin story bit, but they're a necessary requirement for super-hero films. Audiences need to build a relationship with the title character. Throwing so many human GLs at the audience with no explanation and little backstory would be incredibly superficial. I do hope that John Stewart is included in the film in some fashion. After all, he's James Rhodes to Hal's Tony Stark. With the exception of the Hulk's treatment as a character, I love the movie too. Bana's Bruce Banner is incredibly fleshed out. The action sequences are incredible. and the comic panel visuals are amazing. Like Connelly as Betty Banner and Sam Elliot as Thunderbolt Ross were much better than in the sequel.
possible poster from Green Lantern: Green Lantern Poster From The Warner Bros Lot Bleeding Cool Comic Book News and Rumors looks interesting to me
Green Lantern costume to be on the cover of next week's entertainment Weekly. Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern on the Cover of NEXT Entertainment Weekly!
Not really digging it. It's so...Plain. Maybe it's just the pose and lighting for this one. Also, bad photoshopping is abundant in that pic. EDIT: Bigger pic added.
Well, at least the ring is green and looks like the GL symbol. I don't like the suit. It's as if his flesh has been ripped off and the costume is made up of his green-tinted muscles. I don't see any black accents either. I'll wait until I see a better reveal, but this isn't looking good so far. A solid color "onesie" isn't going to get it done.
Also, if you look closely, his forearms are white/light grey, to mimic the original white gloves. So I'm sure once more pictures come out people won't be complaining about comic accuracy as much. I'm pretty confident that Reynolds will make a great Hal Jordan. Look what Keaton did with Batman. Oh, and is it bad that the thing I'm excited for most about these movies next year are the figures?
I'll have to see him in action to judge the suit, but it kind of looks like Doctor Manhattan. And that's not good. At all.
