It is a pretty good remake. That song brings back some good memories.
I admit it, I was a fan of GM's Faith album.

The song is Careless Whisper and technically it was Wham! The cover is alright. I guess I've heard the original so many times that nothing can beat it.

That cover's alright. Still prefer the original though.

One of my favorite 80's covers has to be Rufio's take on "Don't You Forget About Me," originally by Simple Minds. Something so simple as a drumbeat behind the bridge makes the song that much better.

Ah cool, I just remember the video. There was another balled they did right around this one, 'One more try' I think

That's right Faith had I want your sex, Monkey and Father Figure on it.

    Good times

I bought the Seether version in iTunes a couple months ago and I agree, I really like it!

Its really good, but certainly not the best 80s cover ever.

I prefer the Ataris' "Boys of Summer" cover little more than this one.

Sadly I can't find a Youtube video of Anal C**t covering The Farm's "You're Unbelievable" :(  YOU WIN THIS TIME, GADGET!

*listens* Wow. Taking a great 80s ballad, and turning it into an utter dirge. Good work, Seether. Good work.*
    *This is sarcasm.
You just won the thread with that. Only just, though; the original was released on August 29, 1989, so it just scrapes in.
I think you mean "Unbelievable" by EMF. Unfortunately (and as much as Anal C**t make me chuckle) that song was released in 1990.

Ah, that's the bugger. And... well... 1990 was ALMOST the 80s? ;)  I was 9 at the time, so those years are rather fuzzy. haha.

I was gonna jump in as the time police but good catch on that. Violator came out as an album in the 90s but Personal Jesus was released as a single in 89? Is that what happened?

Yup. Personal Jesus, then Enjoy the Silence, Then Violator (March 19 1990. I remember that because record store staff had t-shirts with the date on it the week of release).

I remember that it came out in 89 so I was pushing the 80s cut-off line, but didn't know August. Damn that was late. Can't beat Cash's cover though, and much much better than Manson's version.

Damn right. Manson's cover was horrendous.
Ouch. Probably a bad idea to hire Bobcat Goldthwaite to sing the verses.

    1990. :)

I think my vote will have to go to The Birthday Massacre's take on Neverending Story, but I can't find any official video for it on Youtube...
