For all of you looking for these KOs, both sets are available on iOffer right now for $45 shipped per set. I have them on the way, it's a bit of a gamble as I haven't seen a review on them yet.

Yes, finally got them. Thanks for the info. Same day that Twincast and Soundblaster came in too.

Still don't really feel like paying for the Dino tapes, but these ones are fine.

    Oh, hells yes!

I had these when I was a kid. Great toys! I have been hoping they got a reissue! (Unofficial or not).

    Thanks for the heads up!

It is ALWAYS a gamble with knock off Transformers.

However, I do own several of the other G1 KO tapes, and the quality is actually pretty good. I don't have the 2 rare Dinosaur sets (dying to get those)...but I have heard some mixed reviews on their quality.

    So yes, fingers are crossed.

When you get yours in, let us know what your thoughts are.

Thanks again for the heads up!

I have them, they aren't anywhere near as nice as the Dino Cassettes!

I will preface this with, I have had all of the KO cassettes. These are the worse of any of them. The paint on them all is very bad, it's way too thick, and very sloppy. Theres random discoloration in the plastic from what seems to be them not using enough release agent in the mold. Beastbox & Squawktalk weapons are muddy, poorly chromed, but fit well. Grandslam and Raindance weapons turned out a little better. Considering the price of a vintage set, sadly your probably better off without the KO's.

    Thanks for that honest review.

I think I'll pass on these.

Good to hear about the Dino Tapes! I just ordered my set. Can't wait to get them! :)

Again, thanks for the heads up. It's a shame.

I hope TT reissues grandslam/raindance/Squaktalk/Beastbox soon.

This is the only set that I did not receive from KO toys. It got sent and the mail tracked it. And then it dissappeared....

How are the stickers and do they come applied? I've been waiting for Reprolabels to put out a set so I can replace the worn ones on my vintage figures, but that hasn't happened yet.

It's paint, not stickers. These molds never had stickers as far as I know.

Still, stickers would be nice if the paint sucks as mentioned.

Hrm, maybe I'm remembering incorrectly. I really thought it was the stickers that were messed up, but maybe it's chipped paint

Got mine today. The review earlier in the thread is just about spot-on, however I think I can fix most of the issues mine have. They aren't as nice as the dino KOs but they aren't far off.

It's mostly mold flash, sprue tree bits and sloppy paint that are the problem. The paint that makes the tape label is in good shape on all of them, that's the only paint I was worried about. I can easily clean up the other spots. They have some scummy stuff on the plastic here and there but I believe that can be buffed off.

If you don't mind dissembling them and doing a little flash and paint cleanup with a knife and maybe tightening a joint here and there with some nail polish, these should do you fine. I don't regret buying them for $45 a set since the originals are twice that at least, and I can make these near perfect with some TLC.

I'll take some pics after I get them cleaned up.

The chrome on the weapons is a little spotty, but I can live with it. A silver sharpie should hide the few spots that have no chrome.

The toes you need are fine. They fit tight.

I got mine today as well. I'm perfectly happy with them, although they do have most of the problems already mentioned. Fortunately they are very stable, there is almost no looseness that is common with KO stuff, like other KO tapes. The paint isn't that good, but it's not that bad, it's sloppy on the faces but not hideously so. Otherwise the paint looks pretty good on both of them.

The weapons are fine for the most part, although one of my Squawktalk guns has been chipped on one of the "wings". The plastic on both figures also looks fine and fairly even, although some of the sprue remnants are still there and there are some stress marks in various areas. The worst plastic was used on the cards, it's so brittle on the Slamdance card that it broke off in multiple places as I was trying to take it off. Squawkbox's was better, but I didn't really care that much about the card plastic anyway.

All in all I am pleased, and now have like way too many tape Transformers. So that's pretty awesome.

    Man, IOffer's format SUCKS.

Just did a search using all possible permutations, and couldn't find 'em. Hasbro stooges made someone/thing disappear again?

That's too bad about the quality...

Disassemble? Don't these figures use crushed rivets?

Sold out. A couple parts are rivets but these use a lot of screws too.

The seller doesn't have them listed anymore so I assume they sold out, there were only 5 and 3 left when I ordered mine.

There are some rivets on these but mostly screws.

    Here are some pics.
