probably one of the best movies ive ever seen, completely enjoyed the whole thing except the ending but it was sensible. EASTWOOD is still the man!

I thought it was a great movie. The only thing I have against it is Eastwood's Batman voice, which is a minor thing.

Clint Eastwood usually gets my money.

I'd rather pay to see this.

This movie was just plain awesome. I love it. Clint Eastwood makes racial slurs sound cool. :lol  When I'm around Clint Eastwoods age I want to sound and act just like his character in this movie. But seriously, this movie was great. There definitely better be a massive amount of awards given out to everyone involved in this movie because it was top notch.

    a topic about gran torino

i aint talking politics on this one people i just want to get that out in the open from the start

when it comes to the movie gran torino walts character comes across as being a racist albut one in which he and to some degree the people he is racist towards appear to genuinly enjoy the whole humorous trash talking bit in a mutual manner in spit of the whole racism angle

i believe that a good example of that could be seen in the relationship he has with the guy at the barbershop

the way those 2 talk at first you would think they both hated eachothers guts when it comes wto walts character being the racist and yet the 2 somehow manage to find some bit of humor in the matter

right now i really dont know what to think on the matter people

This one belongs in the Movies and Television forum. In fact there's already a "Gran Torino" thread.

i just watched this: you guys have got to be shittin me.

the movie is decent and its great to see eastwood take the lead since we last saw him in a supporting role in million dollar baby but its just an okay flick.

sure its fun to watch him take some names since, what? unforgiven? but seriously. clint has been doing this coughing blood shtick since...that movie where he was a dying western singer. which was like forever. hes not treading new ground here, even if i get a kick out of seeing all the stereotypes and racial slurs in a mainstream movie.

unforgiven > everything hes ever done since. this is on par with million dollar baby, which packed more gut wrenching punch. (im not saying u guys cant enjoy it, i did, but i wouldnt rate it top 3 movie for the past year, much less within clints own folio.)

good for leisurely viewing. im not sure its a must watch tho.
