OK so maybe it's not what most of you would call a grail, it's more like a mini-grail, or even a "quest", but whatever you call it... I finally finished it!

Long story short: a while back I came across some of my old toys from my childhood, and amogst them were a couple of Go-Bots that could combine into a "monster" type thing. This by the way was the only complete combiner I ever owned as a kid, so it had some sentimetal value. Three of the six bots were missing though and I didn't know any of their names to try to search for them.

Anyways, after a little searching I discovered that the combiners name was Monsterous and I also found the name of all the bots that make him up, woot!
I had Heart Attack, Fright Face, and Weird Wing, but lacked the other three (Fangs, Gore Jaw, and South Claw).

Step one was compete, I found out their names, but unfortunatly Go-Bots are not as sought after as Transformers, so conversly they are not as easy to find... at least not the more obscure ones, and trying to search for them by name on eBay, forget about it.

Fangs and Gore Jaw were relativly easy to find, althogh they were a little more expensive than I thought they should have been, but hay I paid it. South Claw was a little harder to find but after several months of searching I finally found him... I stumbled across him for $6 at a site call FortMax.com (they deserve the plug)

So today I finally finished a peice of my childhood, and however you want to phrase it (grail, mini-grail, quest, ect), it was more of a test in patience than a finacial one, and it makes me feel all warm and tingley on the inside :D

    Anyway, here he is:

that's so cool you found him! about a year ago, I went searching for a puzzler, and got into a little gobots kick for a while. ended up buying a few lots here and there on ebay. I used to know a really great website that had pictures of all of the figures and their alt modes, international exclusives and such, but can't find it anymore. oh well, congrats!

I got him and Puzzler awhile back - only gobots worth owning IMO.

I think you have his legs on backwards, BTW. And fix that chrome!

    ^Seconded^

I know, I tried putting the legs on the other way and it just didn't look right to me. I always remembered putting them on face forward as a kid, because that's how the box art showed him, and the ones with the chrome-ware are mine from when I was a kid... so those are gonna stay :)

I still have all mine from when I was a kid, but they were a different release. Same quality, same colors and everything, same name even, just not "Go-Bots". Or Machine Robo or whatever actual variants there are. On the cards they were actually described as devils.

I got one last year from Megamus, great fig. Now you need Puzzler who I feel is the better of the 2, especially the individule bot names.

The Go-Bots combiners were pretty awesome. I still have Puzzler, though he lacks most of the vehicle's rubber tires and he's floppy as all get-out.

Monstrous looks like a pretty awesome piece. Kinda like a horribly mutated and animalized LioKaiser :p

It's a Knock Off, Greatest toys has them on eBay although a little on the expesive side for a KO. Good quality though, not like most KOs.

I remember reading about them being released under diffeant names when I was trying to figure out their names.

I actually tried to buy one Friday from that FortMax site, but got an email saying that someone had already baught it right before I did :(  ,but I'm still keeping an eye out for him.

Thanx all for all of the pos feedback BTW

I know the whole stigma about Go-Bots being the "generic" toys and Transformers being the "name brand" toy, but Abominus always seemed like rip off of Monsterous to me... blasphemy I know, I know...

Wow, I didn't know the colors were different in Japan. Very dark compared to the US one.

That is actually a pretty good looking combiner, even if it is a gobot.

Nice, I love the nostalgia of picking up an old childhood toy, I'm spacing out re-buying some of my childhood TF's for that very reason, bought a lot of ones I never had. Cheers also for reminding me to pick up a Puzzler. :)
