My little boy got G1 Soundwave just a few months ago ! Brought back a lot of memories for me seeing him play with it. Always loved the toy/character myself when I was young.

Awesome, I always get the warm fuzzys when I read about someone getting their first G1 Soundwave. He was my favorite TF as a kid and I still love him. Every time someone posts a photo of him I want to grab mine and transform it.

Was $70 a fair price to pay for one in this condition, 100% complete, with tech card?

Was $20 a good buy for Ravage?

What is a reissue? What are the differences?

Soundwave is one of the top G1 figures (heck, TF figures) ever.

Great score. Enjoy the expensive (yet gratifying) road to collecting vitage. :)

Price wise I don't know what he's going for. I paid 38 shipped for a nice complete one 4 years ago off eBay. His speaker stickers look crooked but the rest look to be better condition than yours. Than again I sold the one I had before this one and the bids went up to $50 and his chrome was scratched on the buttons and the door. It's hard to say what's a good deal, just as long as your happy, confortable with what you paid.

I remember getting mine too. Was really excited as I always liked the character as a kid, but could never find the toy. My friend had it, and I could never make him swap it :)

Got him on Ebay for £42 shipped with Laserbeak and Ravage (Think they were both reissues though) both guns, missiles and battery cover. The cassette door has been repainted, and his joints are loose to the point of making him tricky to pose, but I think he's awesome.

    Here he is with his buddies;

Got only a reissue soundwave, when I got that I was estatic. What I love about this figure is that he looks like the cartoon, and has some poseability. Some other G1s look nothing at all like the cartoon. Another reason I like this guy is he is to scale with Hegemon.

yes on soundwave good buy, does ravage have the chrome missiles? if not, they aren't that expensive or rare

a reissue is an official remake. easy to spot on soundwave as the chest door and player buttons have been remolded, the blue between the play buttons and the center piece won't be there, and on the TRU exclusive version it'll have a double cassette deck (see pic above of the reissue)

Ah Soundwave. You can never go wrong with a classic.

Yours is actually in pretty good condition, better than mine even. And that's a pretty decent price for one with that many extras.

As a child of Beast Wars, I've never had any nostalgic connection to G1 toys, but I do enjoy picking them up from time to time. There's just something about G1 that I can't put my finger on. Even the Classics line, as awesome as it is, doesn't quite have what G1 has.

Hell, just today the Punch/Counterpunch I bought on eBay arrived in the mail. I've been messing with him since. Sure, I've got better, more articulated toys, but right now, Punch is the man.

Congrats, that is a really nice Soundwave. A gold plated classic TF! Never had him as a kid, but Ravage/Rumble was my first TF - cassettes & Soundwave are just perfect Tf's. Nice one!

$70 is a good price for the condition your Soundwave is in. It's hard to find one with a tape deck in good shape like yours is (the gold trim is usually scratched up bad).

$20 is ok for a Ravage with good stickers and tight joints.

Now you just need the other cassettes lol. I'd recommend picking up the Encore #19 Reissue box while it is still cheap and easy to find.

The Encore Rumble, Frenzy, Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, and Ratbat are all really good reissues.

Don't go reissue for Overkill, Slugfest, Steeljaw or Ramhorn though. Their just not as good material/build quality as the originals.
