I recently had Vista installed (upgrade version) on my old computer (the one I'm using right now). I got it back and they had taken everything from my C drive and put it in the Windows.old folder. I didn't think I needed it any more and deleted it. Well my PC was asking for the activation code. I typed it and and got error messages. It was considering it a full version of Vista because the old windows stuff was gone. Since my computer is about 3 years old I didn't think it was worth it to buy a FULL version of Vista and such when I'd turn around and get a new one a few years later. So I shopped around today. Glad I did. Keep in mind I just got the desktop unit, no monitor included. I got one from Office Depot on a 6 months same as cash (Can have it paid off by then fairly easily) plan. My current PC is a HP Pavillion with about 160ish GB of HD space, 1GB ram, and a Pentium 4 3GHz processor. Had a DVD-rom and a DVD+RW drive My new PC is a Gateway GT5658E with a AMD Phenom 2.2 Ghz processor, 3gb ram, DVD+Rw drive, and get this a 1 TB HD. Got it for... $588 (tax included). Got it for about $500 less than what it should be! Plus signed up for their free membership program and got 10% onto a card for later use (kinda like a CVS card) Get 10% back on all purchases. I'll use it later once this is paid off and I got more $$ saved up to get a better monitor.
