Mind you, I already have AC: Revelations, Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3. And I also have Arkham alysum which can be 3D-capable via a software update if I'm not mistaken.

Besides these, which ones are must-get 3D games?

Lol. Shadow of the Colossus looks phoking insane. Because it's an older game, you get smooth 3D minus the graphical hit that sometimes affects 3D. Motorstorm apocalypse will rape your eyes.

Not sure if Jak and Daxter Collection might be nice, but it might be the same effect as Shadow of the Colossus.

Resistance 3 looks pretty sick also.

Haven't seen the 3D on that one, so I didn't want to comment. For example Silent Hill Downpour looks pretty shitty in 3D.

I saw Arkham City in 3D on the PC.
    It looked quite excellent.

    GT5 isn't bad in 3D.

I believe MK9 is also 3D if you want a fighter that has that

Alright, so I went through my current collection of 3D games. For some reason, I had to tone down the 3D depth on AC Revelations, as it felt too forced. Uncharted 3 looked good. Now Killzone 3 and Stardust HD are mindblowing. I was actually playing pretty shitty on Stardust because I was too distracted by the 3D depth and the OMFG! Those rocks just came out of the teevee!

I just remembered I also have Wipout HD. Still need to try that one out.

No, all you need for Arkham Asylum is to activate the 3D already in the game. But you need some TriOviz glasses to get the effect.

I don't have a 3DTV, but I REALLY want to know how Mortal Kombat looks in 3D.......
Oh, and my recommendation is Killzone 3...not sure how the 3D in other games are.

I don't know about the older game not having the graphical hit. The God of War PSP games that were released in 3D took a pretty significant hit when going to 3D even though the graphics weren't PS3 quality to begin with. The resolution drop was still very noticeable, at least on my 63"

I assume graphics taking a hit in 3D also depends on whether you have active or passive 3D

They take a hit, but it's not because of active vs. passive. 3-D games use stereoscopic 3-D, which takes the left and right image and divides 1080p by two equaling 540P. This is why the resulting image is fuzzy on 3-D games.

3-D movies use standard 3-D, which is not stereoscopic, to provide a 1920x1080P picture. In summary 3-D games are basically half resolution and 3-D movies are full resolution.

Regarding games.....Gran Turismo 5, Mortal Kombat, amd Arkham City are awesome! If you have 360, I highly recommend Gears of War 3 in 3-D.

If I ever meet you in person, I want you to hit me for not mentioning Wipeout.

Haven't played the God of War games in 3D long enough to make a judgement, but Shadows looked amazing. Even if it does take a hit it's still nowhere near as significant as a ps3 game that was not intended to have 3D.
My buddy said that he had to turn 3D on gears off because the layering was all screwed and the game took a serious hit. Menus weren't compensating for 3D and such.

Mortal Kombat looks awesome because it's a subtle 3D, which looks great.

Also I don't think every game divides the image into such a lower res. it's a case-by-case. Stardust for example does not get hit that hard.

^ True....but, all games take a hit because of the need for higher frame rates. Here goes.......

The hdmi 1.4 standard only allows 1080P in 3D @24 fps (3D Bluray)....this is too slow for games to display peoperly. The next best option for a game is 720p @60 fps (rarely used, GT5) or 540P to each eye (most used, GOW3, MK, Black Ops).

No I realize that but not all games are developed with 3D in mind so some take an even more serious hit. Example is Avatar vs. something like Uncharted 3 which was built with 3D in mind. Avatar drops to a crawl in 3D. Gears takes a pretty big hit, despite potentially looking awesome in 3D, and menus (such as 360 menus) don't compensate for 3D so its a jumbled mess.

^ I'm tracking with you....it's kinda like post processing 3D movies (clash of the titans) and shooting in 3D (TF Dotm). The differences are very clear.

...and I still haven't tried it in 3D yet.
