Good directing choice. I liked the Pirates trilogy. I'm hoping for something like a horror/thriller/suspense type film. Especially with people in the game like Sander Cohen and Doctor Steinman.

I hope it's "somewhat" stylized like Sky Captain. Not the entire goofy 1930's attitude, but visually.

The movie needs to be ultra steampunk.

Why do films like this get green lights when we haven't heard anything about the Halo movie in what seems like ages?

One of the best-selling games of all time doesn't get precedence over this 2nd-rate title?

If a single company controlled every licensed property I could see your point. Bioshock is hardly a second rate title.

    Clarification: 2nd rate Game-to-movie title.

Bioshock is much more natural fit a movie than Halo anyway. At least with Bioshock, you have a nice single source of story info. Halo is nothing more than standard sci-fi fare (I'd even say sub-standard) wrapped in a pretty package. Halo's story has never been a strength, at least not since the first game.

Agreed, after the first game it was more focused on multi-player. Which is why I cry for a Halo movie, not a trilogy.

Unfortunately, the best chance we had seems to have passed by. Though, I was never really that impressed with the Halo shorts created by Neil Blomkamp.

There were reports on April 1st of this year that it was planned to be three movies (just Halopedia'd the topic). Whether that was a joke for April Fool's or a serious report was never stated.

I guess "new news" isn't all that far gone, if it was indeed true.

Hmm, a Bioshock movie? Part of me thinks it sounds awesome, but more says 'oh dear god no'.
As it stands Games-to-movies have been pretty lame so far (IMO), and I really hope Bioshock doesnt fall into the same problem.

Still, I can't say a Big Daddy rendered up in 3d on the big screen wouldnt be amazing.

Well, Bioshock would certainly work better as a movie than it did as a game (decent game, but pales in comparison to its predecessors).

The only thing that could save this movie from sucking is if they turn it into "Bioshock: An Evening With Sander Cohen". That was the best part of the game along with the intro and the scene with Andrew Ryan.

Also the game's story was by far its best part, but I dont think the material would make a good movie.

The only thing that worries me (potentially) is how they'd handle the moral dilemma of harvesting/saving the Little Sisters. But this should be interesting to see on the screen.

I trust Gore. I think this would work alot easier then a Halo movie. And it will probably turn out alot better then a Halo movie ever could.
