I have the free version of Google SKetchup but it only lets me save it as a .skp file. Is there a way to change the format or do I have to port it over to another 3D program?

And there's a free plug-in out there to allow you to save to .obj. Took me awhile to find it, but it's out there.

You did not export as (.dae) right? Please tell me you didn't. Because that's going to cause you a lot of trouble.

Seriously, if you are uploading to Shapeways using Collada files, PM me and I'll tell you how to get to Stereolithography. They are much more reliable and Collada doesn't upload very well as soon as you have multiple parts.
