Dumb question probably, but should the toys in this set have a Hasbro stamp on them in addition to the Takara? For kicks, I opened a set today and low and behold, Hasbro is on the toys!

umm, I don't know. I've got a set, but it's 1000 miles away so I can't check. there's a real easy way to tell with the megs, though. the goodbye megatron doesn't have the attachment point on the grip for the stock, and isn't chromed.

Yeah. There is no chrome, and there isn't a point for the stock. But still, that Hasbro stamp bothers me. It's on both the Megs and the Starscream.

It would make sense that it does since it was released after the original Takara and Hasbro releases.

So what's special about that Megatron except that he's packed with SS?

He has blue plastic inside his legs and no chrome on the barrell and stock. It replicates the original Japanese release.

Yes, but the question is whether or not I have a legit item here. FTR, the one in my possession has red in the legs. I knew about Megaplex, but wasn't sure about this one. I asked because I have no idea of the conditions that merit it actually belonging in this box. It sounds like it doesn't. Do the latest Takara reissues have the Hasbro Stamp as well?

No bracket, but red inside the legs. Everything else I have read tonight says that the legs should be blue. So even if this was the original Japanese release that didn't have the stock it should still have blue legs. This is just weird.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere (maybe it was here?) that the original Japanese Megatron has the blue inner legs, while the Goodbye version has the red... but that the box art has them reversed? Or am i thinking of the VSX Megatron having blue legs, while Goodbye has read...? Well, wait a second... if it is true that I'm remembering that two versions come packed opposite to what their box art shows it'd have to be VSX and Goodbye, as the original doesn't even come with the scope, therefore wouldn't have the scope bracket on its arm...

Ok, I'm just confusing myself now.

    Sorry.:(

My turn for what could be a tard question, I have long wondered why this set and the Convoy one are called "Good Bye". Can anyone shed any light on this?

I pulled out this little $15 mag that a guy named Fumihiko used to sell at the conventions in the mid nineties that deals with nothing but Japanese TF's and variations. He also wrote the Generations book. On the cover he states that the Megs shown is the Goodbye version. It has RED legs and no silencer attachment.
