What are the best sites out there for buying G1 figs? Right now I'm trying to round out my collection of 1984 minibots but I'm sure I'll want to expand later.

Yeah. eBay is where I've been buying them. I was just wondering if there were some good alternatives. I imagine there must be some good stores out there that don't want to pay eBay's fees.

The Junkion Exchange here on TFW. Besides that, eBay.

Wheeljack's lab is a big site, but I seem to recall a lot of people on the boards not liking him. Only story I can remember off the top of my head was a case where someone bought something, and it was the same figure, but not the exact same one. Scratches and stickers did not match the picture. It's like he took a picture of one transformer, but then grabbed another copy of the same toy to mail out to them.

    Ebay:
He does give this disclaimer " Please know pictures are for reference please refer to the grade listed for each, also bare in mind I sell roughly 800 transformer items per week, so I know how to grade them accurately. With that volume I can not supply individual pic’s wish I could there is just no time for it."

I'm pretty picky about condition so I don't know about buying something sight unseen.

I got most of my G1 stuff on eBay from 2001-2005 or so. I also bought a lot of parts on there from Wheeljackslab, never had an issue that I can recall.

I buy from Wheeljack's lab on eBay. I've bought a LOT of G1 items from him over the last ten years...the only problem I ever has was in 2005 I bought G1 Runabout and Runamuck from him and Runabout was missing its head. I told him about it and he sent me a new complete Runabout, no questions asked. I know not everyone has had good experiences with him but I've had a pretty flawless track record of buying from him.

I just bought a Sunstreaker off of Ebay today. Ebay and the Junkion are really the only sources I go through.

Ebay or Junkion also, I wouldn't buy anything with out seeing pictures though. I don't buy anything from Wheeljacks Lab as I have had items not match the description.

NO. Nonono. He has to have the worst reputation among G1 sellers on eBay. Please, read this thread before you buy anything from him, if you still want to at all.

Haha! I see I'm not the only one who had the misfortune of dealing with this guy. I guess misery loves company!
His selection made me drool but he never came through on a single item and I had my money refunded. He was good about it though and was very prompt with the refund.

Yeah, eBay and the Junkion Exchange (or similar sections on other boards, I would assume) are probably the best bet.

I've never bought anything from Wheeljackslab, but have had that happen with other sellers on eBay, so it's something to watch out for in general. The honest sellers will at least say in their description that they're using a "file photo", but with others you won't find out until you receive the figure and it's different from the listing image.

Is FortMax still around? Their site used to be good but last I heard they were just selling Fortress Maximus stuff. Sorry for suggesting WJL. Like I said, I never did any business with him.
