    If you're the one trading MP4, i'd be inclined to suggest keeping it TBH.

    It's not that i'm for one over the other as a toy (very diff interpretations, really) , i just think MP4 is worth a bit more these days, and that MP10 will be around at original retail for a while yet (?)

    Yea, I see MP-04 going for quite a bit these days in spite of MP-10's release. It seems to be going for roughly the same amount of money these days as it did pre-MP-10, if not more. I saw an auction on eBay yesterday or the day before that was at $300+ with a few days left.

    Keep MP-04, as someone who has both I can tell you that MP-04 > MP-10. While MP-10 has some nice features it still doesn't scream I AM OPTIMUS PRIME as much as the huge MP-04 does.

    If you have an MP2 (Megatron?) I'd say Keep your MP-10, if not, then go ahead.

    No way man, keep hold of MP04. You can still pick up mp10 at retail, but you'll never get mp04 back.

    Are we talking used or new?

    New --> New? No.
    Used --> Used? Maybe.
    Used --> New? If you don't think you'll miss it, sure.
    New --> Used? Hell no.

    And that's just based on current prices. I wouldn't be surprised if MP-04 doubles from the current value in five years.

    I've got both, and while the MP-10 is a better toy and clearly a much better representation of the character, the MP-04 was the original and as such could be worth more to collectors, at least in the short to medium term.

    Ok, I guess I should have clarified that myMP-04 is used, but was only ever displayed and transformed a few times at best. Does that change anything, because looking at ebay prices, it's going for $400 sealed.

    Heh, mine isn't sealed. And I spray-painted the ion rifle black too. I'm pretty sure I killed the value there.

    Should also state that I have MP-01 as well, so this is why I am thinking that I want to trade one for the other.

    I'd still say keep it, MP-10 is a lot more flimsy feeling than MP01/04. MP-10 is nice dont get me wrong but if I had to choose which to take it would be Mp-01/04

    sell your MP04. With the money you can buy an MP10 and then have a bit of money left over.

    I'm not a MP collector these days, but I have owned both, and I'd vote for MP-04 all day long, its just a much more substantial toy. MP-10 is awesome, but its not even in the same class as MP-04 in terms of quality, weight, size, etc.

    I would keep MP-04...I have both too and MP-04 is still my definitive G1 Optimus. His size makes him look great on a shelf.
