    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for "just the right shade" to use to make Classics Thrust happen. I normally use Tamiya Acrylic Sprays and can't find the proper shade to use for the really dark red on Thrust. Tamiya does have a maroon, but on their site, it does look WAY more towards purple, and that's the LAST thing I want to do.....

    Any ideas?

I picked up a bottle of Polly Scale Rock Island Maroon. It was the closest thing, I could find. It's a dark red, and not purple. Sadly, I've not had a chance to start my Thrust kitbash, yet.

The Pollyscale railroad colors go on nice and smooth, and they dry dead flat. If you want a glossy finish, you'll have to clear coat it.

God painted the color to use for Thrust; you just have to mix it   (Mixing the color is what I would do)

    Rust-Oleum Colonial Red Spray
    Colourplace Enamel Deep Grey Spray
    All found at Wal-Mart
These colors were the closest to the cartoon colors.

I'm also currently painting up a dirge using testors cobalt blue, and again, it's a perfect match, just in case you were planning one of those as well :thumb

For Dirge, I am actually going to use a dark Navy Blue, but I am using the Tamiya Aircraft paint for that.......But thank you! =)

Does it come in a spray, or just the bottle? I am prepping my Ramjet for Thrust, and I have the G1 wings to do it, but all I need is the paints.
