I have a feeling Ratchet will be coming back, but not until the last live action TF movie. I have an idea some equalizer event will happen where Optimus Prime most likely sacrifices himself to bring old life and new life back to Cybertron or even a new grid.

 

The "last" film will involve a time warp/black hole where they go back to an alternate past where Cybertron still exists, and everyone is still alive.  

Except for it's a Shattered Glass universe, something like that.

Marky Mark got more kills in 1 movie than Ratchet in 3.5 movies...

 

I'll admit that he was merely passable in the previous films, but he was also a genuinely good guy - the nicest of the bunch. I was saddened and disturbed by the manner in which he was killed. Lockdown and the Humans that helped him are pure evil.

 

I find Ratchet s death disturbing.

 

Now that you say that, I think that's also why it hit me so hard as well. The other Autobots all showed some real violence in battle, dismembering Decepticons with little regard for life. Ratchet was just the medic. He never hurt anyone.  

Rather like Wheeljack/Que I suppose, but I found Ratchet's so much sadder given that he'd been around since the beginning of it all.

 

For me, what made his death so disturbing were the grunts and moans he made as he was being shot, as well as the sight of him pleading while standing on his one remaining leg.

As for him not hurting anyone, he cut off Brawl's arm in T1.

 

True, as well as probably took down a couple protoforms with machine gun fire in ROTF and maybe a few in DOTM, but never anything to the level of Optimus, Bumblebee, Ironhide, etc. where it's absolutely brutal on screen.

 

Reminds me of how they put convicts in prison on the G1 toon. They would remove the memory cores (sparks I guess) and place them in a vault. Thats how Starscream resurrected the Combaticons.

If every Autobot was spark stripped and stored might be able to bring alot of "dead" guys back. that scene was dominant to not mean something later one.

 

Ratchet cut of Brawl's arm in movie 1, he shot and killed at least 2 Con soldiers in movie 3 that i seen. He killed.

 

For some reason, the last sentence of your post (i.e. "He killed.") made me LOL. It's like you said, 'Ratchet wasn't innocent.'

 

Ratchet may has also had his memories downloaded and stored. The head appeared to be the last portion the humans were melting down.

 

Ratchet was built as a healer rather than a solder. He had one of the best lines ever, something to the general effect of. " sniff, sniff, the pheromones indicate that the boy wants to mate with the female".

 

That's just what I meant. He may not have killed as much as some other bots but the good medic, did take a few Con lives.

 

Not with that ship. It pretty much split almost in half before it finally crashed. I doubt they're going anywhere on that thing. Besides, dinobots were such a marketing success I feel like they'll be back for sure in the next movie.

Do I believe Ratchet dead, yes. Would I like to see his spark still online to some how be reformatted as a foe like Rhinox into Tankor in Beast Machines, yes. Do I think the writers would do that, no. So Ratchet be dead.

 

That's how I see it as well. I feel like the movies will explore this idea in the future. I mean but then again they already have, the primes were Ghosts or spirits

 

Sorry dude, but Rachet's spark disappeared from existence right along with Lockdown's ship.

 

Nah, Ratchet's dead. His head has been broken down into Transformium and even if lockdown extracted his spark, HIS corpse got vaporized when prime detonated one of his grenades to take out the pursuing vehicons.
