So, I have a friend who's going to Japan in the next week or so, can anyone suggest good toy shops? I'm talking about the collector stuff, well, any and all would be good actually.

Also, (and this is a long shot) does anyone know of any kind of toy fairs or events that are happening in Japan?

    Much appreciated!

Have bought stuff from these guys online in the past and they do have a store in Japan which might be worth looking into.

Also in terms of new stuff I hear the Tokyo and other airports in Japan are good places to hit up for new(er) stuff.

Depends which part of Japan he goes to. If Tokyo area, Akihabara is always good. This Kaikodo SWC mentions is a bit pricy but have good selection, it's about an hour away from Ueno. There should be a map in the link.

All over the place as in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima? :D  Joking aside, if he is going on a package tour, I assume he can ask at the front desk of the hotel he stays...
If he's going on a freer travel like backpacking, let me know the places he intends to visit and I'll look up an online phonebook.
