HOLY SHIT! There's a Mitsuwa in San Jose?! What does this store sell again?

 

It's like a Japanese marketplace. I have only been to the one in New Jersey, but that one had a mall of shops, one of which sold toys and electronics. There was also a housewares store where I bought some bowls, chopsticks, a couple of tea and sake sets, and some sushi platters.
There was also a supermarket right next door that was basically all asian stuff, I got some candy and a couple of bottles of sake there.

I still have yet to check out the Chicago one, but I assume they would all be similar, just a small grouping of boutiques.

 

Are there any good toys to buy? That's the important part! Screw bowls and chopsticks! I have plenty of those already!

When I went to the one in Edgewater, I think they had some Japanese BW stuff, but that was back when I was poor. I guess if you dont want to waste a trip you could give them a call and ask about TF stuff. And if they don't know what you are talking about then play them some of the Japanese theme songs over the phone, they'll get it.

The one in San Jose is actually somewhat on the way to my parents house. I will be going this weekend! They BETTER HAVE GOOD SHIT!

I'm here. And I'm fraggle rockin' tired.

Stayed up the whole night yesterday. Left our apartment at 4AM. Flight left at 6AM. Couldn't sleep long on the plane. Got here. Checked in. Suite is FUCKING unbelievable. Nearly the size of our apartment. And CHEAP! Need to stay at Embassy Suites more often from now on. Now need sleep. Hungry too. But sleep overrides all.

 

So whats up with your trip to Chicago? Why are you there? How long are you there?

 

Viv's got the Economics conference here where they interview all potential future hires. Last year it was Boston. She's got around 20 interviews lined up from tomorrow until Sunday. So we're here until then.

If my girlfriend was still going up there this weekend to see family, I would have tagged along and tracked you down to wreck havok!

Well, spent half the day with Wreckgar, went to Toynk, and hit up a few TRUs, Targets, and Wal*Marts. Lots of fun!  

Ended the night by going to Weiner's Circle for some Chicago dogs which was REALLY worth the cab ride out there.

Flying out tomorrow night. Hope to come back to Chitown in the future sometime. Loved this trip!
