well i ran across a page from the UK Dinobot Hunt comics [seen here: http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/3669/tfclassicvol01intcrx346kq8.jpg ] and on this particular page [might be more, i dunno for sure] Megatron was done up in this neat Gold color. Error i know but i thought it looked cool. so here he is in that scheme, hehe. Just slapped some quick colors to this sketch i had done some not too long ago. Laters!
Very cool work indeed mate! Far as i remember thats about as much as you see of megatron in that color, the next page has grimlock cutting him in half. that was a special follow on story from one of the uk annuals where the dinobots were stuck dreaming about dieing in battles.
I never read the comics so I thought this was supposed to be that episode where they find that pool of gold liquid and get super armor
That's no error, it's how he was consistently coloured in the UK comic. Am I seriously the only one that ever noticed that he was gold on the original box art?
hmm i dont remember him being consistently golden, just occasionally? along with the occasional black or blue helmet etc
like i said on the allspark its a consistent error then nobodys'[hasbro/takara] ever deemed the gold colors canon, nor have they deemed the black helmet canon. otherwise we probly woulda got toys and cartoons with him like that xD *shrug* whatever
