Hey gang, After being a member on TFW2005 for so long, I thought that i'd finally share some pics of my collection for others to enjoy. This is not my entire collection, but what I choose to display. Periodically, I like to switch out the items in my case. I do this to keep things fresh and to reduce clutter. A bit about my collection. I am primarily a G1 fan from the 80's. As a general rule, my favorite transformers originate from the Diaclone and Microman toy lines. I do have some favorites that originate after 86' however. Items like Brave Max, Hot Rod, Predaking, Powermaster Prime and Black Zarak are some of the finest robot toys I have encountered. Other than Transformers I enjoy other 80's transformable robots. Super Sentai, Godaikins, and Machine Robo. Perhaps in the future I will post some more pictures of these items. Until that time, enjoy! Hey all Since this thread is a personal platform of a sort, I though that i'd use it to share a little-known tidbit of info with you, accompanied by a short story. Part of what made Diaclone so special was the inclusion of the little pilots. You can put these pilots inside most of your G1 TF's if you so choose. There is an exception. Most versions of the G1 seekers are not pilot compatible. A bar was added to the clear canopy of most versions of the G1 seekers to help reinforce the toy. The original Diaclone version of the f15 Jetrobo mold do not have that bar, allowing enough clearance for a pilot to sit comfortably inside. The only G1 jets that can fit a pilot are the pre-rubsign versions of the mold. These early TF's were practically direct translations of the Diaclone toys. This means we can put drivers in the Diaclone versions of Thundercracker and Starscream, and in pre-rub G1 Thundercracker and Starscream. There is only one version of Skywarp that can use a driver..the pre-rub version. Why do I care? Personal story ahead: In 1984, I received two Transformers for Christmas Wheeljack and Skywarp (thanks mom!). That morning I studied the detail and craftsmanship of the toys. I was especially curious about the cockpits and how they seemed to actually be able to hold drivers. Lo and behold, later that Christmas morning I opened my last present. I receiced another toy. A random robot ....The "Diakron Multi-Force 14 Robot" (yay 4 moms!). The toy came with 5 pilots and the mystery of the drivers was solved that same Christmas morning. Later that year, a teacher confiscated my Skywarp and never returned it. My Wheeljack and pilots disappeared over time. It took me years to buy these back. When I did get a new Skywarp, the pilots would not fit. I was confused until I bought my third Skywarp...a pre-rub. So another mystery was solved! To this day, G1 Wheeljack, SKywarp, and Diakron 14 are among my favorite toys ever.
some of the 80's toys are actually very well made. the nostalgic design is unbeatable, not even masterpiece can overwrite them.
