Not to jump on the bandwagon but you can also add the Universe MicroMasters Aerialbots and Movie 1 Legends Scorponok to recent victims of GPS.

I don't know if it's GPS, but the legends scorponok's stinger crumbles, as stated above by seawing, and many others on the forum.

Ahh here it is, I knew I read it on here somewhere:

Also here's a discussion about Superion:

And totally forgot about Energon Scorpy too, but I found it when I was looking for the post about the legends version

I've seen multiple people on here (including one a few posts above) state that the stinger is what is susceptible to crumbling/disintegrating on them like other GPS toys.

Does the recently released EZ Legends repaint from Takara (part of Volume 5 with the ice cream truck-colored Twins) have a gold plastic stinger on that one too? I think that's the only redeco of that mold since the original release, so I'll be interested to see how that one holds up.

Darn it, this reminds me of my legend scorpy which had the exact same problem couple of years back - less than two months on display, no sunlight no heat and one fine day his tail just kinda crumbles like a a cookie left in the open for too long...

    RIP scorpy tail... :rip

p/s: this thread makes me wanna go get another scorpy...

I just transformed my 2010 Predaking and noticed something VERY disturbing.

The inside of Rampage's legs are covered in very thin layer of some kind of powder.

Isn't this the warning sign for GPS???

The plastic used on his legs is pretty thin and of the "swirly metallic" variety.....god I hope Takara wasn't stupid enough to use bad plastic on an item this expensive...

    Anyone else having any problems?

Any idea what the powdery residue could be, if not GPS???

Tried to take a photo but my camera is OLD...this is the best I could do...

Some strange powdery substance on the inside of his leg, and I noticed it's even on the red parts of the leg too. The robot mode's thigh.

Predaking has only been out for a little over 2 months....but so far nobody has seemed to have any serious QC issues. If it's a widespread thing, I'd assume more people would have complained by now.

But I'm concerned. None of the other Predacons seem to be affected so far....

Sounds like extra mold release to me. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just bought 2010 Predaking, will it have gold plastic syndrome?

Pretty much what the title states. I am wondering if this thing will flake into dust in a couple of years, cause that would suck.

No, I'm pretty certain all the gold on them is just paint. And even if it isn't, I'm pretty certain they wouldn't use the kinds of mixtures in the plastic that causes GPS...whatever that is.

There were a couple of threads about this before. I think we probably won't know until after a few more years if it does or does not suffer from GPS.

You should be fine. It doesn't have the swirls in it. It's either paint as suggested or a sturdier plastic. I never thought to look at it close enough to tell for sure. I only noticed the lack of swirl. Decided to sell it because I like the original yellow on the 2004 reissue better.
