It would want to be solid fucking gold for that price....

That seller has a suspicious amount of "Extermley Rare" Lucky draw pieces, don't you think?

That price is quite out of scope, even for this figure.

The funny part is, if TakaraTomy would produce limited runs of (for example) 500 on stuff like this, clear G1 figs, and some of the other lucky draw stuff, a lot of us would be willing to pay a premium for them.

I can't understand the business sense in making ten of something you give away vs. 500 of something you charge a couple hundred bucks for.

I'm glad you guys found the price as outrageous as me.

Plus I know its a rare item and all but i think i'd much prefer to have one in normal colours (Real Prime or Magnus).

Of course there was that G1 episode of the Golden Lagoon...

That is quite a lot even for a lucky draw as highly sought after as that one, but considering how there are only like 10 or so in existence its definitely still worth several thousand at least.

I thought for the price it must have been a one of a kind.

Well since its a price that guy will certainly be makin' a profit if he is able to sell it.

That's an interesting point. There are definitely sellers that somehow get these toys without having to actually win them in the contests. One guy on Yahoo Japan seems to consistantly get Lucky Draw toys. And then every once in a while it seems like a bunch of different sellers get the same obscure lucky draw toy (Fire Chrome Daigunder, for example.) It's definitely more than just the items given away in magazine contests. There are more produced than that.

On the other hand, this particular seller's prices are so high, it wouldn't surprise me if he bought his lucky draws from Japanese sellers and resold them on Ebay for an extra $1000 or $2000 per item. The prices are just ridiculous.

Dude, if you bid on this thing, you have no right to bitch about the price of a PS3....

And if you really want a gold MP 01... buy one and get some metallic gold paint...
