Netflix sent me my copy today, I'm going to see ROTF tonight for the first time.

I'm fairly indifferent to the whole prospect. Any suggestions to make it more exciting?

You'll probably roll your eyes at a handful of scenes.

I'm sure I will. I am looking forward to seeing robot balls, though.

The fast forward button to the action scenes seems to work well for me.

Instead of letting people sway you watch the movie and decide for yourself. If you like it. Fine. If you don't? Also fine.

You know how torn this board is on the movie. Asking for suggestions on what to do to enjoy it is basically asking for the smartass "Toss it out the window" type of responses.

Well...yeah. That's completely what I was expecting. Do you honestly think I'm looking for people to tell me if I should enjoy it or not? :lol

I do like the high volume idea. That's a good one.

Surround sound, HD, Blu-ray, nuff said. Best way to watch outside of IMAX.

I heard of these guys who tried drinking while watching Dragonball Evolution. If it could work for that movie, it could work for ROTF. :)

For all those suggesting huge screens, blue-ray, surround sound - no. My TV is what it is, and the DVD is rented already. Done deal on the hardware side.

An no, my mind is NOT made up already. If it was, I wouldn't have rented it in the first place.

Well if you vcan't watch it in surround sound, on a HDTV, and/or blu-ray...... ur screwd this movie is made for that and you can't get the effect otherwise. I still hope you like it.

    Turn the subtitles on.
I know it sounds like a stupid idea. But there's so much action, you can't really hear what they're saying.

If the movie depends on all that to be good, it MUST suck. What exactly is "the effect"? It sounds magical.

I never knew you needed a whole ton of entertainment technology to enjoy any given movie. Thanks for the heads up! I'll run right out and drop a few grand right now. Except not.

The only hi-tech gear I've ever needed is my microwave for popcorn.

Watch it with your hand down the front of your pants, ala Al Bundy.

That way if you don't enjoy it at least you're still having fun.
