Had to shell out $35 for it but Stan The Man is a legend in the comics and he's really old so it may be the only time I'll ever see him in person and get his autograph. For those who have gotten his autograph did you bring a comic or buy a picture for him to sign?

I did a year or two ago I guess it was, had a print of the cover of ASM #1 signed.

Was a very disappointing experience actually. Could only get 1 item signed, one of the workers takes the item from you, passes it down to Stan, he signs it, someone hands the item back to you.

    He didn't even look up.

There I was, ready to meet one of my biggest idols, and my presence was not even acknowledged.

I "met" him at Comic Con 2009. He was walking across the street, outside the convention center, to his hotel. I was conveniently at the hotel, walking across the street to the convention center. I called out his name, and he didn't respond. I was maybe 10 feet away, and I'm pretty sure he heard me. There was also the matter of his 5 bodyguards wouldn't let anyone get within any reasonable distance of Stan.

I got a photo of the back of his head from 20 feet behind him.

Ah well. I'm not going to take it personally. He's 87 years old, has probably been doing the conventions all day for dozens of years. It was around 4PM, probably the end of the day for him. Since he was heading back to the hotel, I have no doubt that he needed some R&R (HE'S REALLY OLD!). So I'm not going to flat-out denounce him. I'm sure he would have been happier to see me if I had approached him during an autograph event. Still, it's kind of a bummer that I was within 10 feet of one of my heroes/idols, and he wouldn't acknowledge my existence.

Yes it's at Frank & Son this Saturday on the 16th. You can still buy ticket at the day of the event but it's not guaranteed (meaning you may not get an autograph even if you have the ticket). Hope to see you there.

Yeah, I'm sure that never gets old. Dave Chappelle ring a bell? :lol .

But seriously, to meet THE MAN...would be freaking awesome. But I will probably never get that opportunity.

I know it is, I meant what happened with Chappelle. He got pissed on stage the one night during a stand up show. Everyone in the crowd was going "Yeah! Okay! I'm Rick James Bitch!" They just didn't stop, so he walked off stage, came back out after a few minutes and called the crowd idiots.

What I was saying is, I am sure that Stan hears that one from just about every fan of his who saw the movie, and it gets old as all hell.

Tell him he needs to do that sequel to Japanese Spider-man. The world needs more Spider-man fighting monsters in his giant robot, Leopardon.
