Just curious, what's considered the "Reasonable" prices for ROTF Bruticus and Energon ones now? I don't trust evilbay listings to determine what I should offer , etc.

A shot in the dark here, Ebay has him from $90 and up, so I would think a misb at a reasonable price is $70 dollars.

i paid 100 for my extra bruticus set(i wanted to display them as single bots as well as the combined form)...i thought it was reasonable...and the bots w/ FP weapons look tight so i was willing to pay that price...i say anywhere from 100-125 is reasonable...

I was going to say the exact same thing, probably between $50-$70 would be a reasonable price. I'm just so blown on how expensive ROTF Bruticus has become. I recall buying both ROTF Superion and Bruticus for $60 before all the add-on kits were available. This was well over a year ago. Prices are ridiculous...

The bidding wars on ebay have it going for at least $70-80 now. BINs are $90+. The last time I saw the set for under $60 was when I bought one about 5 months ago.

How is the new price a scalping price? I think that word gets tossed around way too much.

Funny thing is that it's mostly greedy people who are keeping his price up, with BINs and bid starting so high anyway. Of course the few with love bids will catch up. Anything's less than 90! Gotta love ebay.

Ouch. I was a little sad when I paid nearly twice* what I had seen them at for retail (this was not long after color pics of the add-on came out). But that's nothin' compared to $90.

*Bought it from a member here, have no regrets nor resentment. Just kicking myself!

I'd say grab an individual Onslaught/Barricade figure, and a Swindle and Blast Off from the boards here. I'm assuming that you want the Crossfire sets, and don't care about the colors.

Agreed. If some guy bought out his local Target's suppy of these, stashed them in his basement for the better part of a year, and then started selling them now for $100+ a pop, I'd call it scalping. However ...

... at this point in the game, I wouldn't really call it scalping. People are charging as much as they are because they know people will pay for it. You don't get much more capitalistic if you're trying to make the most money possible. If they don't sell for the BIN prices, you could expect those prices to fall. But now that the Fansproject set it out, and people realize how stupid awesome it is, those BINs won't last long.

I know it's a litte fuzzy, but I think it really boils down to the seller's intent, which is difficult if not impossible to measure.

tl;dr, the term "scalper" is used too liberally in these parts.

I recently bought a brand new set for $90 shipped. Bought a second set because I also bought a second set of the FP sets.

I wouldn't even call that scalping.
    1) When Target got them Target got A LOT of them so unless he bought thousands of them he wasn't affecting supply.
    2) Target clearanced these. Buying out an entire supply of a clearanced item is not scalping.
    3) He had to sit on these for a year for the price to go up.

And lastly, Crossfire was announced after the Target clearance.

Which means that our hypothetical scalper could have bought dozens of sets once he heard the news. But of course that's extremely unlikely. People selling their sets now are simply profiting off of favorable market conditions.

I just wish we could get away from the word "scalper" as "someone whose prices I don't like".
