Who do you think would win.
My money is on Godzilla.
Godzilla is bulkier, more muscular for sure. He's taller too, assuming you go by the English dub of the first movie. Plus he's got that atomic breath, and past monster fighting experience.
Cloverfield monster, while I love it, is a spindly lightweight in comparison.
It'd be a helluva a fight though.
Well, Godzilla's indestructable and shoots lasers from his mouth, so...
But Cloverfield is lanky and agile enough to probably put up a decent struggle.
Cloverfield monster can wreck a city.
Didn't show me anything that (s)he'd be able to stand up against Godzilla or any of his enemies/allies though.
In a fight, Godzilla.
In the swimsuit competition, Cloverfield.
In a spelling bee, Cloverfield.
In a basketball game, Godzilla.
In a card game on motorcycles...too close to call.
Nah. Charles Barkley would dunk on Godzilla.
Godzilla has fought many giant monsters like him. The Cloverfield monster just fought the military. I'd say that Godzilla has more experience and therefore has the edge.
How is this even a poll? There would be no contest.
The Cloverfield Monster has those little things that have infectious bites.
Godzilla, He's the King after all.
Godzilla would completely annihilate the knock off.
Well, let's find out:
Monster Against Monster: Godzilla vs. Clover - YouTube
I adore Clover, but Godzilla would win. Would be a pretty tough fight though.
Godzilla can beat any thing
We don't have enough of these "vs" threads everywhere else?
Godzilla. A nuke killed (presumably) the cloverfield monster. A nuke MADE Godzilla, or at least woke him up.
Not that I dislike Clover (in fact, I love the hell out of it), but there's NO contest here whatsoever. Godzilla wins, claws down.
Godzilla has fought (and defeated) monsters that are far more powerful than Clover, from King Ghidorah, to Mecha-Godzilla, to Space Godzilla. He'd mop the city streets with Clover. Not to mention Godzilla's had a bit of experience over time, Clover hasn't had continuous exposure to humans and other monsters.
But past experience aside, all Clover has displayed is using its immense size to wreck about, but nothing more. And as everyone has said, Godzilla has a ranged attack with his radioactive breath, so he can fight Clover without ever touching it. The Parasites that fall off of Clover unlikely would have no effect against Godzilla, though they might get on his nerves. However, Clover did show that it can resist conventional weaponry, and, after dropping a nuke on it, the quote after the credits (when played backwards) flat-out says, "It's still alive!" So it could put up a bit of a fight, but probably nothing to give it a home-field advantage.
Although, if did have a similar venomous bite as the Parasites, it might cause Godzilla some discomfort, distracting him from the fight, but it wouldn't kill him.
Just throwing around that it's been canonically conffirmed the nuke attack at the end of Cloverfield actually DID kill the creature [despite the post-credits thing, the director says he's down for good]
Godzilla is indestructible and has radioactive breath. The Cloverfield monster looked tought but he was really a scared child while Zilla is a veteran fighter. Godzilla would spank him.
Godzilla because of most of the points above.
