So I'm not a big fan of the Bayverse toys. I just don't like the way they look, generally. I do collect some of them, like Starscream (because STARSCREAM), Sideswipe (because I like his design), Ravage (dude, Ravage!), and a couple others, but I mainly like to collect Classics. (Yeah, I CHUG. What you wanna do about it? Wanna fight?)

Every time I go to the Walmart or TRU, they never have anything from the Classics line. It's all Bayformers, all the time. I get so fucking pissed off. I usually end up buying my Classics on amazon.com.

But you know, there's something so satisfying about going to a store and buying it vs. ordering it online.

What do you expect? The movie is the big media item right now. Of course movie toys are going to be the dominant toyline. CHUG is more or less on hold right now so you won't be seeing anything from that line for awhile.

If you look to the right of the movie toys, you'll see Classics figures in red packaging labeled "Generations".

Check them out, they've got some fun figures!

I agree with you. The Classics/ generations line has been relegated to 2nd place behind the movie line if which I have no interest. I use it as time to save money for future purchases.

Let's see, promote a line that has a recent piece of media...or a line of toys meant primarily to cater to nostalgic 80s fans that has no show or media behind it...yeah the choice is kind of clear IMO.

I know that's where they're supposed to be. I've seen them there before occasionally, but more often than not, there's no Classics available.

Huh? He mentioned nothing of G1.

I'm with TJ, Generations are sitting right next to the movie figures.

Some movie figures are very cool. I dig pretty much all lines.

I agree with the op, it is much more fun to score in a brick and mortar shop than an online retailer.

Have faith, plus there is the Prime line coming too. Kind of mashes all the aesthetics together but they look like solidly engineered toys.

How is this the movie toys fault?

You should either A) Be angry at the retailers for not stocking Generations, or B) be angry at all the kids who love the movies and buy the toys that increases it's popularity and thus creates demand for more toys.

I know, but it seems like CHUG has been on hold since 2007. :/ I'm kinda getting sick of it.

On hold? There's been a new Classics-based line coming out every two years. Classics in 2006-07, Universe 2008-09, and Generations 2010-present. It hasn't been "on hold", it's just sharing shelves with the much more profitable movie toys.

Yeah, this. Super cool story OP, but you know...advertising what's big right now. The movie line is ending a little after this winter so yeah. Do you hate shopping online? I know there's still some CHUG stuff you can get for decent prices.

all of the "CHUG" lines have been filler lines, they've never been the main focus of the retailers

Classics - filler between Cybertron and the first movie
Universe -filler between the 1st and 2nd movie, though this one was a bit bigger than Classics and also shared shelves with Animated
Generations/Yellow Box - filler between the 2nd and 3rd movie.

^ The fact that there were 2 lines filling out that last one (with one of those lines also being a dropoff for leftover Movie figures), and it shared the shelves with PCC, and it was the most recent line, may make it more fresh in your mind as the "main" line of the last year, but it was still just a filler line.

When the Prime line becomes the main line, Generations will either A) still only have a sliver of shelf space like it does now with DOTM , or B) it might share more of the space with Prime like Universe did with Animated. It remains to be seen.

THIS. Most of these toys came out this year, and I've yet to see them in stores.

Also, I find it quite amusing that the one DotM toy I want (Laserbeak), I can't find in stores.
