Coming this fall, we are happy to announce to fans that God of War Collection will include the long-awaited God of War III E3 2009 Demo. Each copy of God of War Collection will include a voucher code that can be redeemed through PlayStation Network on the day of purchase. This is your chance to experience God of War III before it hits store shelves March 2010.

Just recently announced on the blog, God of War Collection features remastered versions of both God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray Disc at full 1280 x 720 resolution with 2x anti-aliased graphics. Both critically acclaimed games, which were originally developed for the PS2, are running at 60 frames per second for a smooth gameplay experience on your PS3. Additionally, the Blu-ray Disc compilation will bring PSN trophy support to the franchise for the first time. God of War Collection will be available in November. Keep an eye out for video gameplay soon.

The fans spoke and we listened.

For those that recall the God of War survey conducted earlier this year, an overwhelming amount of the community suggested the PlayStation 2 experiences of Kratos be brought forth to the PlayStation 3.

Thanks to your feedback, we are excited to announce the God of War Collection for this Holiday Season. Now fans and newcomers to the series can experience the epic journey of God of War and God of War II in 720p HD form. Both titles have been remastered with anti-aliased graphics, running at 60 frames per second for a smooth gameplay experience, only on the PS3 system. Additionally, the Blu-ray Disc compilation will bring the PlayStation Network (PSN) trophy support to the franchise for the very first time.

This is your chance to experience God of War is its true form before the chaos of God of War III hits store shelves come March 2010.

Developed exclusively for the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system, God of War®Collection features reworked versions of both God of War® and God of War®II on a single Blu-ray Disc™ at full 1280 x 720 resolution. Both critically acclaimed games, which were originally developed for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, have been remastered with anti-aliased graphics running at 60 frames per second for a smooth gameplay experience on the PS3 system. Additionally, the Blu-ray Disc compilation will bring PlayStation®Network (PSN) trophy support to the franchise for the first time (included for both games).

The God of War series brings epic mythological battles to life with stunning graphics and an elaborate plot that puts Kratos, the triology’s main character, at the center of carnage and destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him. God of War®III is scheduled for release exclusively on the PS3 in March 2010.

    God of War Storyline

Set in the dark world of ancient Greek mythology, players take on the role of Kratos, a Spartan warrior. Plagued by the nightmares of his past, the ash covered warrior would do anything to be free of his debt to the Gods and the memories that haunt him. For ten years he has labored for Olympus, now on the verge of losing all hope, the Gods have given him one last task. Destroy Ares, the God of War. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, Kratos will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes.

    God of War II Storyline

God of War saw Kratos, a mortal warrior, set upon an epic quest to dethrone a God. But his journey did not end there. In God of War II, Kratos sits atop his Olympus throne, as the new God of War – far more ruthless than Ares ever was. To end his continued torment, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal, or god has ever changed… his fate. God of War II sets an epic stage for a devastating mythological war to end all wars.

I will add some comparison screen shots once they are available.

I probably am going to pick this up. Never played them, so they will be all-new to me. Gotta get ready for III since it looks awesome.

And you can't beat the price. $40 for two games that are considered by most some of the best Playstation titles ever released? That is the main reason I am getting it. The price sells the whole damn set, IMO.

Can I ask what you mean by "Shadow"? Just don't know what game.

But if I had to ask for a remastered PS2 game, it would be the first Killzone. Fix the controls and I would pick it up as soon as released.

Shadow of the Colossus, an incredible PS2 game made by the same people who created Ico. They're working on a new PS3 title that will be spiritually be related to their first two works, yet much like SotC and Ico be a stand alone story in it's own right.

And I too would love to see those two games get the same treatment. As I would buy them just as eagerly as I plan to buy this combo pack of awesome and win.

Yeah Shadow of Colossus. The thing is, enough people have been askng for it, that the developer actually said he was interested. That doesn't mean much, but at least he didn't say, "No, I prefer to move forward."

    With good reason.

But GOW definitely marks its own territory without tredding on DMC. They are different enough despite the similar mechanics. The only thing that sux about one is the dreaded tower climb. I throw my controller just thinking about it.

I actually just started playing god of war 2 last week for the first time. I wanted to play it on the ps2 to see if that system's "swan song" really was all it was lived up to. most certainly it was, with one glaring exception: horrendous screen tearing. if this comp has fixed that (it's not unlikely for this to rear it's head on the ps3-ninja gaiden I'm looking at you) then I'll probably pick this up for a discounted price in a year or two.

I would so get this when it comes out if I wouldn't be broke after getting MW2. Maybe Christmas, or I might just by all of them, including 3, when I have the cash.
