Damm if the Gobots cartoon in the US had been that good looking (and stories that matched), TF would have really had a run for its money.

I've never seen the Battle Armour 5 Promo before. Animation is good, although way too "stiff" especially with the big robot. That said, love the combination sequence and the enemies who keep attacking throughout (especially the part where the last one gets hit as he goes in to form the other leg, were that actually in an anime that'd generate a nice bit of drama, since you'd be wondering will they combine or will it fail since one has been hit - although the time it took them to combine, will they be done in time was also an issue.)

Also, what was that other Battle Armour shown at the end? Was that the other one that only came out in Japan or something?

thanks for posting that. It was very cool. Im sure Go-bots would have been more popular over here if they played that show on tv. I also like the name Machine Robo better than Go-bots.

That reminds me of how much I miss seeing "Mighty Orbots" on Saturday mornings. Thank you, YouTube!

I'm beginning to realize why tf's died off for such a long time.

    Ahhh Mighty Orbots.

Such a strange yet awesome show.

I think what made it so weird was that it looked extremely Japanese in the art and direction department, yet all the voice actors came straight from Hanna Barbara.

I mean, the action hero of the series was voiced by Brainy Smurf and the show's narrator was friggin Space Ghost (Gary Owens RULES!).

Still an awesome show, though. 13 episodes wasn't enough.

Oh, and that Machine Robo promo was pretty sweet. The combination sequence felt like it took a lifetime, but I dug that the bad guys were actually smart enough to try and STOP the combination rather than just wait idly by for it to finish.

Also, did I see Tux in there? Robo top hats are da bomb.

Gods, yeah. I don't know if it's because I grew up with "Tranzor Z" and "Voltron", or just that I always had a keen eye for animation -- but I vividly remember this show in the same way I remember the single episode "Call of the Primitives" from G1 Transformers. Both "Mighty Orbots" and "Call of the Primitives" had such a distinctly un-American, uncommonly beautiful style of animation. Back then I didn't know it was called "anime". I just knew it looked amazing, and I couldn't stop watching it again and again.

Memories like this sure make me wish I could draw.

That was AWESOME... I was thinking the same thing. :)

I love watching these and recognizing all the Gobots... except they look SO much cooler this way. :)

    OMFG!!!!!

This is really weird. I was following these Machine Robo links, same as everyone else, and then I was like...
"Geez! I wonder if they have any MIGHTY ORBOTS stuff on YouTube?!"

I only saw that show twice ever, and it blew me away. The theme song still pops into my head every now and again, completely at random. We're talking 22 years ago now, so you know it left an impression.

So I just went on a Mighty Orbots memory binge on Wiki and Youtube... and then I come back here and find you guys TALKING ABOUT MIGHTY ORBOTS!!!

I'm sorry, but that's just too weird. It's like we all started thinking the same thing at the same time!! :confused2
