...or perhaps better known as Frog, from the Super Nintendo role-playing game 'Chrono Trigger' - one of my top 5 games of all time.

I wanted to depict a less-than-human look for the character.

    Cheers!

Yeah, I'd like to get a bit more pencil work done on it, but I do plan to color it.

When this game first came out, I did a lot of fan art (on good ole blue lined paper, no less), and for no reason other than the nostalgia it brings me, I am revisiting my work. I'm not sure about other individual characters, but I might do Robo and the Magus sisters, along with the other pictures I have planned.

    Thanks, everyone!

....you do realise I now have got the Masamune theme playing in my mind over and over again? o_O '

As for crits, overall very nice, especially liking the face, the eyes and mouth in particular. :)  I think you could do some metal texturing (either some sort of shading or hatching) to give the sword (especially the handle really) some more depth though. Same might be true for the shield, since it's not as noticable as it could be: I actually only saw it the second time I looked at it - though that stamp might be throwing me off. Colours would obviously make it noticable anyway. Do think you could define it better in just the lineart with some strong shades though, but that's up to you of course. The armour could perhaps use some shading as well (under the armpits perhaps?). :)  Not quite sure about the fingers and toes, bit wrinkled (even flat in parts), but I guess that was your intention and I'm not very knowledgeable of frog limbs. Does make it look more beastly.

Few drawings are perfect. This is one of them.
BEAUTIFUL lines, full of life and expression. That's the meaning of art, not a shitload of different techniques and rules. It's magnificent.
I can tell how much passion you got in there with every stroke. Passion of drawing. That's the most important thing.

I've seen the recent ej su cover. His work is cold, no life. Looks like something straight out of Autocad. This is the total opposite. Loved it.

Yeah, I think you can see that I'm not quite done with the lineart just yet, comparing the quality of some areas to others. The sword and shield are hinted at, mostly. I was happy enough with where it was that I wanted to share it. Thanks.

Wow, thank you for such wonderful words! That means a lot, coming from you. :)  I only hope you feel the same when I get around to coloring it.
