I would like to have a small glass shelf to display my Transformers.

I want something that has about a 1ft x 2ft base, and maybe 2ft or 3ft feet tall, with multiple shelves. It would be really cool if it was enclosed to keep dust out, but could still be easily opened by a hinge door on the front.

Does anyone have something like this, and where did you get it? I haven't seen anything like it in any chain retail stores.

I've seen things like that, but mainly used by retails stores themselves as display cases. I see some selling on craigslist every now and then when stores shut down. That would be your best bet IMO.

This totally isn't the size you want, but the Detolf is probably the most popular glass cabinet among TFW members.

Although this thing is 5 ft tall I recommend the IKEA Detolf. Its a good glass display case for 64.99. I just bought 2 myself.

Funny this thread popped up. My wife bought me a 6'x2'x2' glass case three days ago, finally I can unpack some tfs from moving seven months ago! They look quite amazing in it. She bought it at Jyst for $60. I dont know if you have those stores where your at.

The glass shelves come out, so it could work for what he wants.

Thanks everyone! That Ikea Detolf does look good... I wanted something a little smaller, so I'd be less tempted to fill it up, but I'll probably go for one of those.

Er, yeah... Jysk, thats what I meant. Its a sweet case, you will not regret it. I just looked a bit closer and it appears to be about 6'x2'x16", still pretty awesome though.

I've got six, and will be getting six more in the coming months to fill up the Nerd Cave.

This is good news to me as my town had a jysk but no ikea. Every time I go to an ikea there's usually no room to bring back a detolf so I think I'll pay em a visit this weekend myself. Post some pics if you can

So yesterday I went to buy plexi glass to keep things held down on a table for an art show. Well they didn't have the size so my future mother in law suggested buying a picture frame..large one.

If you can either cobble together connectors from the frames or buy connectors it might be a nice display to just go to wal mart, buy a few frames and make your own display.

I know plexiglass is safe but the frame I got was glass. I do not know if it is tempered or not. Before buying I'd suggest looking into that.

Hey lazerface, even tho some are saying to get the detolf be advised that yes it is $60 but if you don't have a Ikea store near you they pretty much murder your wallet with shipping,I was gonna order one until I seen what shipping would cost (nearly $200,+ the cost of the detolf). So again I would think about it.Hope that helps.

Billy bookcases with the Morboro doors is also a good alternative.

U lose a little bit of depth but more than make up for it in height and width.

Little more cost up front, but u gain up and side to side and sits flusher to the wall in a room as well.
