Heya guys, I need some info and links to whatever you guys use to store your transformers. I'm looking for class casings for them to be displayed them and I know some of you have picked them up at Ikea, but I went to look the other day and couldn't find what you guys were talking about.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have never been to an Ikea being I live in Bumbledump Illinois surrounded by corn.

But you might have luck going to a Sports Memorabilia store and find not only glass cases which sometimes are god awfully expensive. But they should also carry plastic ones that may be more reasonable.

Look up Detolf at Ikea. Very decent and cheap.

My collection uses 4 IKEA Detolf cabinets.

They're cheap, look good and you can add more cabinets if you have space.

Since you do not live near one, the shipping cost on the Detolfs may be more than the cabinets themselves. They're great, though.

I'll just chip in my voice to the 'detolf' chorus. Best display value I've found, period

Yep, for glass cases I use Detolf as well, with "boxes" I picked up at Tap Plastics to raise some of the figures in the back of the shelves...sine the Detolfs aren't adjustable it helps the overall look. I also use the Flarke DVD racks to display Alternators (2 fit on a shelf perfectly in this weird corner I have in the room)

I'll cast my vote for the Detolf as well, though I need to mention their wall-mounted "Bertby" as well. Especially if you have some pieces that you want to give some extra attention.

I'll also sing the praises of the Detolf. I just drove 1hr 15 mins each way this week to get three. They are worth the drive.

Has anyone found a decently priced glass case that is fully enclosed. I want to invest on some that are fully enclosed to save on the dusting etc. I have probably 250+ transformers and over 500+ star wars guys I am going to display in one room when i get my first house. I am looking to outline the walls of one room with fully enclosed glass cases that have one side that slides open - kind of like what you see at some sports cards memorabelia places...

You just can't beat Detolf when it come to glass display! Look for a few alternative, and you'll find that Detolf are dirt-cheap for what they offer. I've yet to see something as good for a better price. I have 4 right for my TFs, and I might get another to display other stuff, this cabinet is just too good :D

Is dust a problem for Detolf? Its was one of the reason why I was reluctant to buy one as there is an opening between the doors and sides.

Yes there is still dust with the Detolf but at least it's minimal as opposed to leaving it out in the open. Anyway here's mine. It's fine if you don't have too many things cramped up. Mine's terrible.

If you are looking for something that big you need to go to a furniture store during a clearance/holiday sale. I got mine then it was about 450 and it looks good plus can hold a lot of my collection.
I have some pictures of the cabinet in my Profile albums HERE
