N. Zealand's 'night parrot' brought back from the brink - Yahoo! News
Thread is relevant to my interests.
Someone get Aernaroth, anyways, very glad to see this, I've always loved the Kakapo, because they're such marvelous looking birds, good god I want one for a pet, they'd never fly away either!!......As long as it doesn't try to have fun with my head....
Oooh, ninja'd, he must sense this sort of stuff
Those things are gorgeous.
And very friendly as well.
Pwetty birdies. Their faces almost look like those of owls, and their bodies are a lovely shade of green. It's delightful. Hope we can save the buggers.
EDIT: And the "related" article is pretty special, too: http://news.yahoo.com/coitus-interruptus-ancient-turtle-sex-fossilized-231206051.html
I love Kakapoos
oh my god, they're so adorable. i love me some birds.
There's only one thing about the Kakapo I don't understand :
How can they be more sexually attracted to humans than their own?
It happens. I was downtown with my mom, and we saw a little market we wanted to go to. At the entrance, there was a dude with a huge iguana on his shoulder. He could tell I was really impressed with the thing, so he let me hold it. He sat on my shoulder for a minute, then his chin flap got super huge. The guy took his iguana back and apologized, as apparently the iguana was in his teens, and though he could distinguish gender, he could not tell the difference between species.
That was an interesting day.
Fluttershy - Yay - YouTube
Fluttershy and I approve, finally some good news around here.
You should have kissed the iguana and said, "Awww, you're so sweet!"
The heart wants what it wants, man.
Anyway, good for the species. I was always fond of flightless birds, especially the kakapo. Really anything that can't jump the fence and leave me.
I thought of this when I read the title:Animaniacs Give Me the Bird - YouTube
On-Topic: Yeah.....that's awesome. Those are also some cute birds!
