Are there any gimmicks that you guys miss? Because I really wish that modern figures had missile launchers and in the US at least, mini-cons/microns/anything in between.

Headmasters, Targetmasters and Minicons are the only gimmicks I ever really liked.

Not so much a "gimmick" but I'd like to see Triple Changers make a return. It's been awhile since we've gotten a good Triple Changer.

And sorry Motormaster and Soundwave, you don't count.

I actually enjoy a little auto morph here and there, kind of fun to see the engineering that can be pulled off in these awesome toys!

Non flipping back, glowing weapons for voyager figures. I miss the days when the gimmick was to have a figure to hold a normal weapon.

    Good voyager figures.
Prime deluxes are good but there are only 3 in the rid line

    Also the c clips.

    Spark Crystals and C-Clip Joints.

Kinda surprising to see how fast the gimmick vanished from the line. But I guess when it was primarily dependent on Scout figures...

Someone already mentioned headmasters but specifically the stats filling up on the chest gimmick was ahead of its time.

    This.

A gimmick that wasn't at all line- or theme-dependent, and hardly took any effort to integrate into a toy seems to be slowly vanishing. The only toys coming out now that have it seem to be redecos and retools(such as the GDOs)

Then again, the only non-Prime main line is Generations, and they're concentrating on FoC right now. It don't seem like any Aligned toy has them at all(sans Cyberverse to an extent). Though I only have a handful, so I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Figures that people won't complain about.

(But in all seriousness, I miss c-clips and pressure-launch missiles the most.)

Third modes. Headmasters. Hidden weapons. Combining that wasn't the same old combiners over and over like Devastator or Bruticus. Originality. But most of all the character-specific gimmicks of Animated. However since all TFs in media these days have indescernable transformations I doubt the characterful conversion ones will ever return.

You know, it wasn't until I started getting into late Beast Era/RID toys that I realized how much I like Spark Crystals. Even on Energon figures, they're pretty nifty.
