All the little smoked translucent parts that fit over the head and tail definitely come with the chrome. The chrome one also has red horns and black thighs. The metallic has silver horns and thighs. The flame accessory was supposed to be metallic only, but for whatever reason also comes with the chrome.

I’m wondering if all the face options, specifically all the red ones, are included with the chrome.

Yes. Chrome came with two heads, two visors, and four faces.

I guess it remains to be seen if the reissue follows suit.

Ok cool. I just wanted to make sure since I love the idea of a slag that has an entirely red head.

Can't recall which expression, but chrome definitely comes with a red head and at least one red face.
For metallic, yes. I contacted Giga because I bought chrome but still wanted silver thighs, and they told me they're still planning to make chrome thighs at some point.

Toy_sir Came Through. Entire new tail assemble was acquired from Giga and sent to me promptly:

    Now for the other leg:

I am assuming that Grassor was damaged during customs inspection on his way to his new home. Toy-Sir really came through. No issues recommending them.

I hope they release some add-ons/replacement parts to diaclonify the dinobots. like a blue crotch piece for grimlock for example.

I think that’d be better than releasing brand new figures which would be super expensive. Although it’d be hard to remove the whole chest of snarl and slag.

Yep. Its much cheaper. Could be a pain in the neck, but id rather have that than spend hundreds. Maybe those replacement kits could also have more diaclone stuff, like drivers and such?

Good idea. I think this is what more people should do with diaclone decos that are very similar.

Same happened to me. Getting those little screws out was a bitch on mine. Had to torque so hard.

Snarl’s chest isnt too bad to remove/replace, many of us had to replace his hips, and the chest has to be removed to get at the hips. Just some screws and it slides off iirc. Can’t speak for slag.

One gave me a bit of trouble, that is why you see a pile of screwdrivers in the background. Needed the right depth and angle on the Philips head to get a good grip. Only one gave me any real trouble. The hard part for me was determining if the screws were actually turning, or if I was just stripping the head right off the screw. It seemed to go OK in the end.

Does anyone know if there'll be a new run of the metallic version?

First time I have done any sort of repair to my figures, it did not build my confidence enough to get comfortable doing it. Still have Grinder's carton accurate head in the package waiting for me to switch it out. That could be more a matter of my laziness though.

    Hello fellow collectors,

I have decided to jump on the Gigapower train.

I am looking at buying Chrome Grassor on either TFSource or ToyDojo. The price is $140.

Do you think the metallic and chrome bots would look nice together if i wanted to mix and match and not be all chrome or all metallic.

I know there are some known problems with this toy: tail breaks easy, dino head marks, and loose fingers.

If i end up with these problems who do i contact to get this fixed? Will the retailers help me? Is there an email for GigaPower where someone will help me?

Are there any good sets of pics where these bots are compared/contrasted between the chrome and metallic versions?

    Thanks!

    These bots look amazing!

If you look at my last couple of posts, you will see that my etailer took care of the broken tail for me. Loose fingers could probably be fixed with some future polish, have not done it myself. They are floppy, but don't really affect your ability to pose them. I only have chrome as I feel they match up well with my FT Dinos.

So I kinda did what you’re planning to do, you know, mix and match. But once you get the chrome in your hands, man that nice new-car dinobot shine is just too nice, and by contrast, the metallic almost kinda starts to look... dirty? Not sure if these photos tell the whole story. They’re both dope, but that chrome fucking pops.
