I finally bit the bullet and bought chrome Grassor. He's going to stand out until I get the rest of the Gigapower line but until then he is majestic.

Edit: I personally think he's a bit big for Masterpiece but the Gigapower line is too majestic for me to stop

 

Dunno, I bought one when I bought Graviter. No chrome issues on the head (was that really a thing?), and the fingers are a little looser than I'd like but better than anything I own with KFC-style hands (Transistor, Paean, Andras, MP-10 with KFC hands, the ToyWorld Constructicons, the Zeta Aerialbots, Quakeblast...). My tail is intact; not sure how common breakages are. I think the way it's designed it's just inherently fragile and unlikely to be changed in a potential reissue, but also one of those things that if you're aware that it can be an issue and you're mindful of that when handling him you probably won't break it.

That's for Guttur, though. Pretty sure we're talking about Grassor.

How do you display your Grassor (or any Gigasaur) - bot or dino mode?

 

I do Bot mode, but I always liked their Bot mode more. Plus I prefer their season 1/2 selves where they were mainly in Bot mode unless they needed to bring the big guns and then went Dino mode. Always hated how in the movie and season 3 they were always in dino mode.

 

I bought one second hand with the marks on the Dino head. It’s an easy fix and the problem isn’t particularly prevalent. Plus giga doesn’t seem to make the same mistakes twice. I highly recommend the fig, my only niggle is the lack of mobility in the legs due to the Dino tail being behind them. I just removed that part of the tail.

 

So, you think to buy it better now or waiting for a re-issue?

 

Price wise? I can’t say what the price was or will be, although above is a link to a preorder for snarl, which I think is about $20 over the original price of 200.
Regarding grassor, I was just determined to get him for 115 or less. Took a couple months but I held firm, and I found one on eBay with the strofoam marks on the Dino head, but also included a replacement Dino head that giga had already sent him. But It’s a massive ball joint tht piece sits on, and I couldn’t get it off without feeling like I was about to tear apart the toy, I mean I felt like I was hulking out on this thing and any more strength would be uncontrolled. so I scanned the thread and found a fix: $5 car polish cleaned it right up and it’s arguably chromey-er than before. So I ended up paying 120.
I have two versions of guttur, if you’re looking for him. For my non-metallic I can definitely beat that preorder price lol.

Yes. He's big and might steal the show on your display.














Seriously though.... his tail tip will break if mishandled during transformation. The wrists and fingers could use tightening and an unlucky few had foam imprints on their dino heads.

 

It has been known to induce nerdgasms.

 

The Chosen Prime has the Chrome in stock at $135 and after looking at Ebay prices I decided to pull the trigger.

 

Mine arrived with a broken tail tip. But my seller got on the case quick and got me a new tip mailed which I installed. Was a bit of bitch the screws are tiny and really fucking tight. Almost stripped them doing the swap but now all is well.

 

So what’s the difference accessory wise between the chrome and regular versions?

 

I believe chrome comes with smoke covers and metallic comes with flame accessories? Someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

 

Do you mean the diaclone bits? I thought that was on the metallic version.

 

Looking at tfsource, yep I have them backwards, flames come with chrome.

What other differences are you referring to? You clearly knew the primary difference.
