to be honest, i find giga’s engineering to be pretty simplistic, so aside from funding, i really don’t see how it’s taking them so long to push out this line. it shouldn’t take a decade to release 5 somewhat straightforward dinos...

Sometimes this place could really do with a dislike button ^^^

If you don't appreciate what they are doing why don't you pick up the FT ones if time out soonest is the only important factor?

Well after Guttur they changed factories and I think they had some designer changes. Stuff happens and anyone who is aboard the Giga train knows full well that it's over the long haul.

All of a sudden I'm impatient for this and Grimlock. Whilst I just had Guttur and Grassor, it was nice to have them, but I was content to wait... but now I've crossed that 50% complete mark, it's like a switch has flipped in my brain, and I need the complete set ASAP.

    Come on Giga.

@the oaf I know how you feel. Can't wait to replace Grinder and Air Strike...even though I love Air Strike.

    I feel the same way!

Gaudenter was supposed to be the third GP dinobot; Graviter was shown later than Gaudenter to begin with. GP then said that the two were neck to neck in progress, with Graviter slightly ahead. Now that Graviter done with its release of both Chrome and Metallic, I'd expect at least pixs of Gaudenter.

I had went ahead to ask GP if we'd get to see pixs of Gaudenter and the reply was "soon". But because its GP, the "soon" probably will take some time. Haha.

I'm definitely looking forward to Gaudenter. Given the time they took to revise Gaudenter, there should be significant changes, and based on the GP records, positive ones. Damn... exciting times...

i’m pretty sure i never stated any unappreciation for giga. stating how i think their enginneering is more on the simplistic side doesn’t imply it’s a bad thing. i was merely wondering why it could be taking so long, factory changes and all (designs for all the figures could be done alongside manufacturing since i doubt the same person designing is the same person cranking it out at the factory, but what do i know).

the fact that i even bothered to comment in this thread years ago meant i had interest in this line, but interests change and so did my collection’s reprioritization and focus. had the full set came out sooner, i probably would’ve been all in before that happened, but hey, if you’re ok waiting around, then more power to you. but to explicitly call out your dislike when i didn’t even say that, just shows how defensive/sensitive some people can be.

I'm pretty sure the delays are from the factory. They don't operate on a first come first serve basis. The larger the order, the more money the factory gets, and the higher the priority it is for them. Doing a small run of transforming toys is probably at the very bottom of the totem pole so they get to them when they get to them. Or so I've heard, I really don't know.

The only good thing about them taking so long between releases is that it gives me time to recover after spending XD

More simplistic than FT where the arms just hang to the side?

    Ok.

I might be in the minority here in preferring the toon face at the bottom, as that's more of FT's thing, but please don't give Swoop a red forehead. :(

I would have said Graviters was more complex but intelligently so. Some of the transformation with the legs - with spring loaded sections etc - was very innovative.

pretty sure i never compared it to FT.

    ok.

don’t get me wrong, i’m not trying to take anything away from giga. i was just comparing their level of complexity to other molds that have more parts and came out around the same timeframe or sooner.

Simplistic isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe Gigapower's engineering. More like "efficient". So far, their Gigasaurs are pretty much as complicated as they need to be, and no more. There's still lots of good stuff there, like how cleanly the dino legs condense and tuck away on Guttur and Graviter, and similarly Graviter's neck. They've also been good about letting their transformation designs close up most of the "gaps" that people like to complain about on MP-type toys. All the non-transformation engineering is also on point (QC variances aside), with sturdy but not overbearing joint work.

I'm all for complex engineering when it's warranted, but 3Ps are very prone to making things needlessly so.

I guess one can get impatient in the long wait between each dinobot. I'm also impatient. But I also think we need to consider the developments between each release to understand why the wait.

Grassor took some time after Guttur, but also that between them, GP took some time to address the hip problems with Guttur, settle the "making good" to those with defects, and true to GP style, to address the feedback on Grassor and improve on the Grassor design.

And it was the same with Gaudenter and Graviter too. Apparently GP came out and said that they had to redesign Gaudenter, and so Graviter was released before Gaudenter. And even Graviter looked very different from the initial sneak peeks, certainly much improved in design and color.

So it's a matter of understanding that for GP, wait is inevitable. The GP strength is you get a company who takes their designs very seriously, bother to take in feedback and improve their designs, goes that extra bit to make good their defects, and the end product really smashes the competition. Flip side is just the wait, so...

Well, 3 GP in, 2 more to go. Gaudenter should be anytime soon... soon... soon...

My solution to this waiting game was simple. I bought the FT versions (plus Reximus), and now am selling them off as the Gigapowers become availible. Bought FT Slag, Swoop and Snarl second hand, and MADE MONEY when I sold them back!

Hadn't seen the previews to this guy yet. REALLY digging the toy-robot head sculpt!
